Democratic congressman hits Super Bowl fans for not standing for 'Negro National Anth

The song is a hymn. Perfect religious events...Church, a baccalaureate service, a marriage, a funeral, a Juneteenth or Black History month celebration, many appropriate places...It's a very pretty and significant hymn...but it's not comparable to the National Anthem....there is no white or black national anthem...Just one national anthem...Aren't we one country and one people?

Here's a concept. Keep all political anthems out of sports. People don't go to football games for that.

Agreed. Of course The National Anthem isn't a political anthem. And it is a mistake to call "Lift Every Voice..." a black "national anthem"; more divisive than unifying.

There is only one National Anthem, Marty, and it is NOT the black one.

You can't give a reason so you fall back on lying. You and trump are two peas in a pod.

LOL

Your posting history here is the receipt for your deep hatred for this nation and the Constitution it's based on.

You hate MAGA with every fiber of your being, as you are programmed by the hive.

The idea that America was ever great, is great, or could ever be great deeply offends you, right?

You instead support the democrat motto of EAFH - "Erase American From History." After all, America is a racist, misogynistic without equitable results, right? I mean that's what the Marxist party - the democrats preach.

You support the neo-feudalism that is called "socialism" where once again all is owned by the crown - the state, where a middle class no longer usurps the privileges of their betters in the party. Right?

Exactly. It's what they do in dictatorships. And when it started, kids were giving the Hitler, er, Bellamy stiff-arm salute.

Exactly - YOU will never hold allegiance to America.

Oh, I guess this is one of those examples of you hating America - isn't it?

The Marxists seek to divide us, balkanize us into warring fashions, until the global dictatorship they dream of can enslave all.

Agreed. That said, volsrock has every right to sit for that anthem..... and the Congressman has every right to criticize him for it. That's how things are supposed to work. Of course, it is also completely appropriate to call volsrock a scum sucking shitbag racist. Free speech and all :)

Ra-men. His racist screeds attract 1) non-racists who take him to task, like you, Archives, and CF, and 2) his fellow racist scum who can't miss an opportunity to virtue-signal and/or shit on non-whites. Bet you won't have any trouble telling the difference. lol

Why do children have to pledge to a nation?

You've taken schools. College names and sports team's names. Monuments (some violently). Respect for standing for the National Anthem. Now the pledge? What more do you want? Why do you hate our country?

That was a great rendition! A "Black National Anthem" is designed to do one thing, and one thing only: Divide Americans by race.

It should not be allowed at all.

The "shot heard 'round the world" ..well, it hit a black man, who had a bunch of friends and that's what kicked the whole thing off!

I wonder how many of the shitbird allegedly "educated" commies here know who it was.

I bet not many, not without Googling.

Give me one good reason why the anthem should be played at sporting events. AFAIK we don't play it at other entertainments like theatre, ballet, concerts, symphonies etc.

According to History(dot)com, the tradition started in World War I.

Why the Star-Spangled Banner is Played At Sporting Events

It was meant to be unifying. But of course here in the 21st Century, instead it is used as a weapon of divisiveness. Bet you can't guess by who.
