They don't give out participation trophies for the economy. Bush had a weak recovery most of his years in office, also - but he'll be remembered for crashing it.
And that's not illogical. He ignored the housing bubble.
It's also not illogical to put most of the blame on Trump for his crash. He ignored COVID. Clips like "15 down to zero" are infamous. He didn't prepare Americans for what was to come.
Even his "good" economy was built on a house of cards. Look up what serious economists said about his hasty tax cuts - they were designed for a quick boost to help Republicans in the mid-terms. Not for long-term growth.

‘Expert’ economists are about on the same level as expert pollsters. There’s simply no denying *the Trump* jobs numbers for *everyone* including minorities, until the CCP started sending us their infected citizens—while at the same time, lying about human to human transmission.
As early as mid-December we were screwed, Fauci, Trump or whoever wasn’t going to change anything. I realize that doesn’t comport with Democrats election year narrative but facts are what they are.
And again, Fauci and the governors own the current economy. In fact, the current economic conditions would be impossible without them.
They did not need Trump. They would have been just fine if Martians abducted Trump a year ago. We would be right where we are.

And the bottom line w/ voters is always "are you better off at the end of an admin than you were at the start?" It's not a very nuanced thing. Even if it was a nuanced thing, it's easy to see how negligent Trump was as a leader during his only crisis. No one but his most loyal supporters would describe his handling of COVID as "good" or even "fair."
Really, he mainly ignored it. He certainly downplayed it throughout, and is on audio admitting as much. That kind of thing doesn't exist in a vacuum - it had serious ramifications for the economy.

The top 10 states with the highest unemployment rate in December 2020 were all shut down by their DEMOCRAT governors.

Now that Orange Man has been deposed, the same dictatorial DEMOCRATS who destroyed their own economies are loosening their grip even though there is no significant decline in "cases", the scary-sounding statistic that they've used for the past year to justify their unprecedented power grab.
The WHO recently announced that the PCR tests that drove the "case counts" numbers have been misused - which doctors and scientists already knew.
Is it a coincidence that they waited until the usurper was about to infest the Oval Office to make this announcement?
Now, the economies that were in a stranglehold will recover and "cases" will decline, just in time for the usurper and his mendacious minions to claim the credit for "solving" the problems they caused.
