Democrats Smoke and Mirrors – They wont stop the war

Abreast of the situations
So it will be interesting to see how you all spin this:

First they campaign on ending the war and win congress. Then they do nothing. Dog and pony shows. Democrat supporters say there is nothing they can do. Its not there fault.

Now they will not commit to leaving Iraq before the end of the first term. What is your excuses for them now?

HANOVER, New Hampshire (AP) -- The leading Democratic White House hopefuls conceded Wednesday night they cannot guarantee to pull all U.S. combat troops from Iraq by the end of the next presidential term in 2013.

"I think it's hard to project four years from now," said Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois in the opening moments of a campaign debate in the nation's first primary state.

"It is very difficult to know what we're going to be inheriting," added Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.

"I cannot make that commitment," said former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina.

Let me channel the talking points....

"They are being pragmatic..."

"Bush has mucked it up so bad that even leaving will be a quagmire. And even if our Generals say we can leave in a year, it will just take much longer than that."

I'm telling you, I'm not feeling this one. It's hard to channel... I'm losing my connection....

Well in all fairness they do not have enough of a majority for force an ending the war type of bill thru and override a veto.

However they appear to have been converted to the real reason we are in Iraq. Oil and without it our nation will crumble and fail.
Damned the shortsighted American people and "leadership" that put us in this position.

My boy is going to enter, you'll see.

And top is going to eat dirt.

Right. My boy.

Another person misrepresenting my views on this war, and this President, based on nothing more than what they want me to think about it because I am a Republican.

I won't accept the crocodile tears of bush voters crying that we aren't getting out of iraq fast enough. Or ran cover for bush for years.

USC, Lorax, Desh, and Darla have credibility to criticize the dems on this.

Just as I wouldn't 'forgive' John Kerry for the "He tricked me!" defense.

I have been against this war since long before its inception. I do not need a lecture from somebody who pretends shared history doesn't exist.

It's certainly disappointing to hear, but I know for a fact that any single one of the viable Democratic candidates would be better than any single one of the viable Republican candidates on the issue.

My favorite part of the article:

Biden flashed anger at the mention of the former New York mayor. "Rudy Giuliani doesn't know what the heck he's talking about," said Delaware senator, who is chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

"He's the most uninformed person on foreign policy that's now running for president."

Finally, someone said it.

I was a step ahead of ya Damo, I was against Bush before he even became president.

This is just the latest cry from the right (damo mostly excluded) that the Dems dont have a plan to stop the war!
Same song different verse.
But there is unfortuantely some truth in this one, kinda like Asshats rants.

I think that people need to open there eyes to the fact that they are all in cahoots on this. Read thru the politics. If this was Afghanistan the dems would have shut off funding and forced redeployment using there majority.

Somethings amiss here.. anyone want to guess what?

BTW that crazy man Dennis makes more and more sense.. besides some of his whacko socialist ideas hes got alot of good ideas 2

It is frustrating as hell for me. The only person that I know of touting "undeclared debacles" and "no more undeclared wars" is not going to win the nomination.

It looks like another year voting Libertarian for me.

Tin-foil hat time for Chappy.

Hillary wouldn't. And I have my doubts about Obama, but that doesn't matter. Yesterday he didn't show up for the kyl-lieberman amendment vote. He's done.

But Biden, yeah. That was the best moment of the night.
