That plan to do the early nomination has been put on hold, mostly because the Ohio Legislature passed a law that would allow the Biden nomination to take place at the convention. (It would have kept Biden off the ballot if the legislation had not passed the law.) But the law is not scheduled to take effect until September, so the Dems are still considering the move. At the moment, however, the plan has been scraped.
