Dems did themselves in!

Wrong, as one article points to how California ended such with Ronald Reagan becoming governor. Then there was Baruch college. Re-read all the information.

Re-read it for what....Nomad is absolutely right....no matter wtf was 'free' 100 or 200 years ago....AND what if free or not free in foreign countrys is totally irrelevant......its as stupid as if you pointed out that bread was 2 cents a loaf or coal was 20 cents a ton at some time in the past.....totally irrelevant....

Incidentally....Politafact, as a rule is usually rate all claims made by Democrats as "mostly true" and will rate claims made by conservatives as 'mostly false' given the same degree of truthfulness ......

Same with Snoops and other so called fact checker sites.....

Read this carefully, as there is a difference between formal declaration as a terrorist organization and acting out “domestic terrorist violence". Which is why the formal declaration comes now. Go back and look at other organizations that went the same route: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/01/antifa-charlottesville-violence-fbi-242235

More bullshit.....Obama regularly called obvious Islamic terrorism such nonsense as "workplace violence" while an attack by one lone white man, that was obviously acting by reason of insanity....domestic terrorism.....

So much for a 'formal declaration' of what constitutes terrorism......

Sorry to inform you of this, but everything you just stated is wrong. The examples being:

http://www.politifact.com/florida/s...llege-once-free-united-states-and-it-oversea/

http://time.com/4276222/free-college/

It's all a matter of willingness to do.
You should be embarrassed by that post. You're usually a little better at offering something of value to make your point.

You cite programs from last century, when the cost of tuition was a pittance. Further, you cite other countries who fund college, but don't have a fraction of our military budget.

Then, you attempt to use those useless links to refute 'everything I said', when in fact I never said there is no precedent for free college. NY just started doing it last year.

Given the fact that you obviously argue for this program because you were a Bernie supporter, you should remember that his plan was to impose a small 'per trade' fee on Wall St. transactions in order to fund it.

I love the idea of such a fee, and have been speaking about the concept since before anyone knew who Bernie Sanders is.

To piss that much money away on free tuition for everyone, as opposed to using it to fund something like Single Payer, or at least bolstering the funding that was removed from ACA, is simply a crazy idea.

None of your links even offer any data to suggest that the money spent reaps larger returns.

I don't see how either of your links back up your assertion that free college is a feasible idea in today's America.

All those articles did were to cite examples of it having been tried a hundred years ago.

Quite a difference between then and now.
I shoulda read one more post before I responded

As the chronology of the posts shows, it is YOU who harp on EXCERPTS from the entire article..as he is pointing to the INTENT of certain advertised imagery by certain authors. Taken into proper context of the entire article, what you railed about DOES NOT define as you make out. Mind you, generalizations and a taking positions of the public for granted is a fault of the article, but it is hardly the misogynistic diatribe you make it out to be. The article would be viewed negatively by those who do just as you do, but not as vehemently by those who read what is given without stopping mid paragraph to go off the deep end. In other words, not his finest hour, but certainly NOT a campaign ender.

Given your dependence on pure speculation, supposition and conjecture on this particular thread, your last sentence is a joke.

You have right to your opinion .. no matter how much I completely disagree with that bullshit.

We can agree to disagree .. or not. :0)

But I find Bernie idol worship .. not much different than Trump idol worship. You are a demonstration of that.

Sounds like you responded just fine.
Another issue that gets lost in this, is that the plan was to cover tuition. In many colleges, the housing/food costs are as much as tuition or more. I don't believe that was a consideration. The issue is the high cost of student loans. Those loans include housing/food.

That's a good point. I suppose they were talking about tuition only. The student would still be on the hook for housing, food and probably books etc, but when they finished they'd only be half as deeply in debt as if they paid for it all. For those lucky enough to have family that lived within commuting distance from a college or university, and didn't mind living at home, they'd come out of it owing very little if anything.

Nice thing if it were doable.

Wrong.

She was running against the worst disaster in American history.

Anyone should've known enough to vote for the person who had the best chance to beat Trump.

Doesn't matter which state you're in.

Poor gonad still can't let go of the election and poor Crooked Hillary. Don't worry she will run again. And lose again. And you will cry again

Sanders was immaterial. He lost, Hillary won. Hillary then should have pummeled the clown. She didn't. It is what it is. Nothing sanders did or didn't do altered the result.
Sanders could never have defeated dump the chump. Trump triggered racists, white rural Jesusland warfare class resenters plus joe sixpack Limbaugh misguided nincompoops outnumber activist socialists in the USA.

Why is this a current event? It's not even instant replay, it's ancient history.

The only thing you said that is right is that you are outnumbered. So don't test our patience

Yea...there might be instances where students have the ability to be near home, but most of the time students go to school in order to get as far away from home as possible. Costs for housing/food are through the roof compared to years ago.

Better to have states set up their own programs. In NY, you have to attend a state college, and when you graduate you must work in the state for a given period of time, or pay your college costs. I don't mind putting limits on the terms of the freebies. It limits those who take advantage, to those who are serious about an education.

Do you have a credible source?

since u r 2 retarded 2 c this post rite here in the same thred & i m a compassionate conservative:

read this carefully:

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has formally classified the activities of anti-fascist groups (antifa) as "domestic terrorist violence" since early 2016, according to confidential law enforcement documents obtained by Politico and interviews.

i accept your apology & i forgive you

sux 2 b buck :rofl2:

Free tuition for all...not really feasible. Training in the trades? Now we're talkin'

[h=1]After decades of pushing bachelor’s degrees, U.S. needs more tradespeople[/h]
The United States has 30 million jobs that pay an average of $55,000 per year and don’t require a bachelor’s degree, according to the Georgetown center. ESAD BernBot.

You fucking morons are as bad as the Trumptards.

Same mentality, opposite ends of the spectrum.

Wow...a retort by you worthy of a 6th grader.

Pointing out simple matter of history and fact does not automatically make one a "Bernbot", genius. Maybe in your limit mental capacity, but not by the general population. To put it simple, in THIS round Sanders was the better candidate...he got screwed, and subsequently the country is now getting screwed. Again, thanks to Hillary and her fanatical followers. Deal with it.
