It’s been a tough few months for Ron DeSantis.

Donald J. Trump and his allies have blasted him as “Meatball Ron,” “Ron DeSanctimonious,” a “groomer,” disloyal and a supporter of cutting entitlement programs. Now, he’s getting criticism from many mainstream conservatives for calling Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a “territorial dispute.”

Is all of this making a difference in the polls? There are signs the answer is yes.

In surveys taken since the Trump offensive began two months ago, Mr. DeSantis, the Florida governor, has steadily lost ground against Mr. Trump, whose own numbers have increased.

It can be hard to track who’s up and who’s down in the Republican race, since different pollsters have had such wildly divergent takes on Mr. Trump’s strength. In just the last few days, a CNN/SSRS poll showed a tight race, with Mr. DeSantis at 39 percent and Mr. Trump at 37 percent among registered voters, while a Morning Consult poll found Mr. Trump with nearly a two-to-one lead, 52 percent to 28 percent.

In this situation, the best way to get a clear read on recent trends is to compare surveys by the same pollsters over time.

Over the last two months, we’ve gotten about a dozen polls from pollsters who had surveyed the Republican race over the previous two months. These polls aren’t necessarily of high quality or representative, so don’t focus on the average across these polls. It’s the trend that’s important, and the trend is unequivocal: Every single one of these polls has shown Mr. DeSantis faring worse than before, and Mr. Trump faring better. (continued at link)

It's odd that his approval rating among (R) voters is so high, yet overall he can't manage to beat the corrupt and treasonous Trump. Good news for Democrats in 2024!

I didn't think that there were that many Poles in Florida.
It's hard to get authentic kielbasa there.

Crackers? Yes. No shortage of them in Northern Florida.
Reichnut Cubans? Yes. All descendants of Fulgencio Batista supporters.
Jews? I suppose a few of them could be Poles. They can't all be German or Russian.
 
Looks like Ron DeSantis is going to have to settle for being the Governor of Disneyland- because he looked like an idiot on the National Stage! And this is just his first outing.

Ron DeSantis came up to give a speech in Iowa, and he looked and sounded more like Alex Jones in a foil hat, trying to sell his audience FOX NEWS CONSPIRACY THEORIES about public schools, while he repeated Putin's propaganda about the Ukraine War.

You could tell his audience were like......

It benefits the Democrats that Pedo Don becomes the RNC nominee in 2024. It's for this reason that I believe Pedo Don won't win the nomination.

Looks like Ron DeSantis is more interested in playing the Bathroom Monitor at Disneyland and Public Schools, more so than he wants to be the president of United States.

He also looks like he is wants to be just another Putin Butt-Buddy like Trump!

I don't think he has a chance in 2024.

Trump will be in jail, so he is out.

Nikki Haley say's she don't believe in Glass Ceilings, but she hasn't fully realized that Republican Men fear women, and would Rip their own balls off first, before voting for a woman president. She also seems like she would rather challenge Ron DeSantis to be the bathroom monitor for Public Schools anyway!

Mike Pence is still hiding, because the Trumptards are still wanting to skin him alive and hang him to the nearest tree.

So let's just say, the RepubliQans are getting off to a rocky start!

It's really been a SHIT SHOW so far!

This keeps up, and 2024 is going to be the easiest win for any Democrat in the HISTORY of US elections.

I hope to gawd not. Best scenario: The QOP manages to push Trump out, so Trump runs as head of his new T Party. DeSantis gets the (R) nomination. The (D)s run Joe, or Kamala, or Pete, or AOC, or Bernie, or Whitmer, or some random lib guy off the street -- and they, and America, win!

They'll tacitly support all the indictments against Trump. All it takes is one felony to make to taint Trump's nomination. While a felon can run for President, it's unlikely a felon would receive both the financial and popular support necessary to win.

The Democrats don't have anyone but Sleepy Joe. LOL

2024 will be a race to the bottom of the barrel for candidates. While I like Pete, Whitmer and Nikki, I doubt the politics of their respective parties will nominate them.

FWIW, while I'm against "dynasty" politicians, I did like Jeb Bush in 2016 and would have voted for him had he been nominated. Instead, as proved by the RNC abandonment of their own Growth & Opportunity Project after the 2012 election, the Republicans chose the more racist candidate.

If they were smart, they'd sponsor and pass a bill disallowing anyone with either a felony conviction or felony indictment to even run. They'd also be wise to put some pressure on the various prosecutors and get them moving, esp. in Georgia.

IMO, they best do it fast so the Trumpers can't claim it's to target Trump...which they'll do anyway. LOL

I just can't believe how far from reality that the Republicans find themselves in today!

Instead of coming closer back to the middle, they are hunkering down and taking their party out to the most extreme edges of the Lunatic Fringe- LIKE THAT IS GOING TO WORK! REALLY? :laugh:

They haven't learned a God Damn thing in the last 3 national elections.
