Dinesh D'Souza claims Michelle's thesis at Princeton was illiterate and incoherent

Christopher Hitchens was far more scathing about it.

I was talking about her book, not the thesis. Maybe D'Souza's jealous that her book surpassed all others to be the number one best-selling book of 2018.

D'Souza's a terrible writer and a major conspiracy theorist. His own books get plenty of negative criticism including "encyclopedic pseudoscience", "insensitive, illogical, reactionary polemics", "selected 'facts' are pulled out of any recognizable context, and used to support a particular viewpoint", and "a parody of scholarship."

I looked over the outline and several passages. It reads like a psychological/sociological study and presentation of the same. Pretty dry stuff. Was HITCHEN'S a sociology or psych major? He was a professional curmudgeon, what did that qualify him for?

More importantly WHY would he pick out MICHELLE'S thesis to read? What was she running for? Did he read Nancy's papers or Laura's papers or Hillary's papers? Would Hitchens have had ANY interest in reading this 'first lady's papers? GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!

^Exactly! What's behind this criticism? Perhaps it's because Obama's JD convicted him of making improper campaign contributions so he's striking out at Michelle.

Aen't they all? It doesn't appear that Hitchens or D'Souza read any other theses for comparison purposes.

The noted hack Dinesh D. is lying his ass off.

Michelle Obama's thesis is written in the dry, boring, academic style that practically all master's thesis are. That is hardly grounds for criticism.
But it is not even remotely "illiterate", and the writing is in fact better than 99.9999999999999999999999999999999 percent of the writing any rightwinger has ever posted on this forum in the last 12 years.

My opinion is, why take the word of a Trump loving rightwing hack, when you can read her thesis one's self?

Ok, so why are so many getting their knickers in a twist about it then? My main criticism is that of all the subjects to choose, she wrote about herself at Princeton, what does that tell you about her? I don't expect her to do a comparative study on the Copenhagen Interpretation versus De Broglie Pilot Wave theory but surely that smacks of major league narcissism?

And her arms!

Let me make this simple for you.

I have told you many, many times that I have zero interest in reading or responding to your posts, no matter how many times you jump up and down waving your arms and trying to get my attention.

That's because you've realized you don't have the ability to refute what is being said. Cowards like you run from it then want to blame the other guy for your failures. Why do you insist on continuing to be a failure in life?

You cons are all alike. You uniformly criticize African-Americans for being lazy and unmotivated. When they're successful and educated you claim it's due to special privileges and AA. It's a no-win situation.

But, alas, who cares what they think, or if they think?

^ That's a great question. I posted a link to the thesis way back in 2012, the first time she was criticized for it. Now for some reason d'Souza thinks it's important enough to bring up again. Only his fans or other RWs can say why this is currently an issue. Michelle's been out of the WH for two years. She's not in politics; nothing she's doing now needs a reference to a 30+ year-old thesis.

I still think this is all part of d'Souza's crazy vendetta against Barack Obama. Or, maybe he's just jealous that Michelle wrote the best-selling book of the year.

Michelle said that the year she entered Princeton black students made up less than 9% of her freshman class. She relates her experience there in the book. Michelle said that she and the other black students were like poppy seeds in a bowl of rice. I don't see her thesis as narcissism but as a commentary on what it was like for a lower middle class black girl from Chicago to be dropped into the white, Ivy League milieu of Princeton. Surely this same type of story's been told hundreds of times by hundreds of different people over the ages.

I went to university in the 70s, the son of poor Irish immigrant parents. So I know only too well what that's like, although still don't understand why she chose to write about herself.
