Diversity In Leadership Is Important.

This is most evident when women comprise a significant amount of government. In countries where women regularly win elections, paid maternity leave has become the law. In countries like the US, where elderly white men are the majority of the legislature, paid maternity leave is still a pipe dream.

The good thing about gender and ethnic diversity in leadership roles is that more groups' issues and concerns are addressed. The only reason you would oppose this is if you belong to the majority in power and fear losing power.

Diversity is definitely important in leadership as America is a nation of immigrants, so long as that leadership does not include treasonous, barbaric and un American Russian sold out republican savages on a mission to destroy Democracy from within, U.S. Constitutional law and the common decency of humanity and its well being. This includes idiots with a hater attitude and sanity infractions who vote against their own interests who are also at fault for the global atrocities that exist now.

Yep. Bot.

Biden has six different opinions on any issue.....that is inarguably, diversity of thought......

You do know that Trump offers multiple opinions on a subject, and sometimes within the same day, don't you?
Remember when he famously offered three different views on abortion in the same day on the campaign trail in 2016?

Ethnic diversity in power hasn't been good at all.

Which countries have had notable ethnic diversity in their leadership and have had it fail?

Most Latin American countries and, currently, America. Multiracialism and Multiculturalism causes fights over representations and interests as well as a lowering of social trust. That's why Americans are so divided now and people are willing to vote for a mentally challenged sociopath in order to stop things from changing any more.

You're claiming that we have a diverse legislature in America? Most of congress is old white rich men. By diverse, I mean more than one or two token minorities.

It's a lot more than one or two. Most of them are white, but there's always going to be a majority. And most of those Whites care more about the non-white population, anyway.

Almost all leadership positions in south America are held by people of white Spanish, Creole, or European decent. Mullatos, mestizos, blacks, indigenous people have little access to power or representation.

South America's problems result from economic stratification, income inequality, oligarchy, feudalism.

Modern Canada is just as ethnically diverse as many South American countries, but Canada is a healthy, functioning, liberal democracy.

What qualities and improvements to leadership does this bring? It certainly doesn't take someone of a particular ethnicity to address a particular ethnic group's "issues and concerns" any more than it takes a man or woman to address gender concerns. To say it does is racist or sexist. It amounts to cultural and gender snobbery.

Thank you for showing everyone how racist you are.

Let's be real. Most wealthy men don't worry about maternity leave. They pay "the help" to raise their kids anyway. You think Trump gives a damn about healthcare coverage or maternity leave?

So? Does that mean they can't contemplate it as an issue, discuss it as an issue, and be objective about it? I'd say that their inclusion along with others would be far preferable to having only vested interests and women discussing the issue where you'd get only a narrow perspective rather than a balanced view. The rest of your answer amounts to a complex question fallacy and in good part the whole thing is a red herring.

The questions on the table are why is diversity some seemingly mandatory thing? How does diversity in and of itself improve decision making for society?
