Almost got to the point. Banks were usinng mortgages to fill out the securities that were selling across the globe. In the beginning they used safe mortgaes. But they were selling so many and making huge bucks, that they instructed mortgage writers to drop standards. When they sold all those, they told them to drop standards again. Banks had no liabilities. They sold the shitty mortgaes off immediately as collateral for the securities. They bribed the rating agencies to rate their securities as AAA. The agencies did. This process kept up, getting worse mortgages involved until they were essentailly worthless.
No it is not person buying a home they could not afford. Banks gave deals that were hard to resist. You got emails and phone calls every day giving you such great sounding deals. They were all predicted on housing values to go up. Then they didn't.

But the parties stand for totally different things, Phantasmal. They mean something.
One would have to be completely non-ideological not to differentiate between the parties.
As for voting persons, I only look at the names in the Democratic Primaries.
In the General Elections, I vote straight Democratic tickets because the other party represents values that are deplorable and repugnant to me.
Even if the Democratic candidate is clearly imperfect as Secretary Clinton was, she/he can't possibly be as bad as any Republican ideologically.
