Do people generally deny ever supporting the Iraq War?

I am 100 percent certain that in 2003 you supported the invasion of Iraq, and that you complained about the liberal anti-war protestors.

I am only responsible for my opinion and my conscience. I was always opposed to your war from the very beginning, as was virtually every prominent liberal poster who ever posted on this board.

You'd be wrong, but then you're most often wrong.

Again, it wasn't my war, dipshit. Again, I wasn't on this forum back then. Why must you be such an asswipe?

My family has paid dearly for the incompetence/treason of the Failed Elite Class.

Which part of the reason why I signed up for the Rebellion against them.

Hawkeye seems to have a problem dealing with reality. The universities he hates were full of protests against the war, while the country music singers were strongly for the war. The "rebellion" against the educated he signed up for are the ones who wanted the war.

He DID oppose the Iraq war. I saw him on a news show during the time saying it a mistake. I remember because it made me not like him as I was a big fan of the spineless GWB at the time.

It took trump 15 years to figure out that he opposed the invasion of Iraq. At first all he opposed was not giving up more Americans to steal from the Iraqis.

81 Democrats voted for the Iraq war.

There were a few Democrats who voted to let Bush decide whether we go to war. That was technically not voting for the war. Congress also authorized Clinton to decide whether to go to war, and Clinton decided not to go to war.

It is a sad state that the worst thing you can think to say about Democrats is they supported a Republican.

81 Democrats voted for the Iraq war. True or false?

That is an easy one: false. Congress never voted to declare war, so no member of Congress voted for the war. There was a vote on whether to authorize Bush to make a decision, but that was not telling Bush to go to war.

It is clear with hindsight that they made a serious decision in trusting Bush to make this decision, but they did not make the actual decision on whether to invade Iraq. That was Bush.

It is sad that the worst thing you can say about Democrats is that a minority of them voted for a Republican to make a decision you disagree with.

This is a claim that I noticed on the board today and took issue with, as what I generally hear is that while people feel betrayed by our leaders and changed their minds they dont lie about what they did.

WHADDYA HEAR?

Thank You.

I never supported it.

Trump attacked Bush for having done it.

I sure did.....I cant remember when I decided that this was The Debacle in Iraq....but I am sure that it was after my wife came home from her third tour so destroyed that she had to retire even though she had been picked up for E-8, spending six months on the couch 24/7 except for appointments.

I respect your honesty.

Your rebellion is taking us further down that trail. Join a real rebellion. Trump is a huge elitist, he shits in a golden toilet.

Once again you are wrong (don't you get tired of being wrong?). Look it up.
Many were in favor of invading Iraq and changed their opinion later. That's a
fact you cannot deny. It was a hasty revenge for the deaths of 2,996 innocent
Americans. Not to mention Saddam's defiance of United Nations Resolutions as
a contributing factor. Look that up.

Saddam gave in to inspections, so many assumed the threat being given in to, Bush would back off. Bush went ahead and decided to invade anyway.

I don't. Sadaam was a threat to his people and neighbors and needed to be taken out. I just wish Bush hadn't tried to tie him to 911.

81 Democrats voted for the Iraq war. True or false?

False.

Bush said he needed the resolution to strengthen his hand at negotiating. That is how he was selling it in October of 2002. He asked congress to give him that leverage and to give him the power to decide if we should invade.

You sure are ashamed of a war you undoubtedly strongly supported in 2003.

If the vote had strictly been left up to Democrats in Congress, the resolution would never have passed because a majority of House Dems voted against it.

Finally, it is really pussified to point at other people to blame for your war. In 2003 you and almost every other conservative on this message board thought invading Iraq was an awesome idea. I literally can't think of a single liberal on this board who supported your war.

You lie. Look it up. 81 Democrats voted for the war.

What an idiot. You weren't even here in 2003 :palm:

it's called admitting you were wrong.

plenty of dems did, especially the neocon hillary contingent.

Most Americans supported the war at the time.

Many of the troops who were there supported it.

Many troops who were there support it yet today.
