DOMA Is Unconstitutional

You're right. DOMA should never have been created in the first place.
it's always fun to remind people that Bill Clinton signed the POS legislation. So many people who oppose DOMA want to blame JUST Republicans when it was both wings of the anti-freedom party that passed it and turned it into law.

We know who signed it. And Bill Clinton has since said he regretted signing it. But the climate when he signed it was very different from what it is now.

So glad you get your jollies reminding people of something a) they know and b) is irrelevant now.

It's not irrelevant. The two parties have been instrumental in restricting the rights of same sex couples. Just 2 short years ago on the 8th, these dems voted to reaffirm DOMA.

Reps. Jason Altmire (D-Pa.), John Barrow (D-Ga.), Sanford Bishop (D-Ga.), Dan Boren (D-Okla.), Ben Chandler (D-Ky.), Jerry Costello (D-Ill.), Mark Critz (D-Pa.), Henry Cuellar (D-Texas), Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.), Gene Green (D-Texas), Tim Holden (D-Pa.), Larry Kissell (D-N.C.), Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.), Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), James Matheson (D-Utah), Collin Peterson (D-Minn.), Nich Rahall (D-W.V.), Mike Ross (D-Ark.) and Heath Shuler (D-N.C.).

Would you prefer Loving vs Loving?

Or you just so hate the thought of marriage equality that you refuse to see the similarities?

'nuff said. Go off and huddle with your hate.

What I read from this post: "I, TK, can't debate intelligently so call DY names."

I opposed it when Bill Clinton signed it.

Its been a great time for my good friend from High school who is a Marine. He was finally allowed to admit that he had a boyfriend to his employer and now he is getting married to his long time boyfriend, they will enjoy federal benefits as a married couple.

After serving and protecting our nation, we owe it to him to allow him to be free.

You need to read the cases and the decisions, that was not the decision. They will make that decision, but it has not been before the court yet.

Well, exactly. Jarod is spot on as usual. This case wasn't decided by the SC. So they haven't said states decide; they haven't said states WON'T decide.

There will be another case; there will eventually be marriage equality throughout the 50 states. Just a question about how many people have to suffer until then. Not everyone can move to a state where they can get married.

I don't disagree. Dems AND repubs were bad on this. However - Dems have read the mood of the country and have been switching their position much faster than the repubs. In the list you have, there are lot of them in southern states; so they were probably afraid they wouldn't get re-elected if they voted otherwise.

So maybe I should say it's "barely relevant" rather than irrelevant!

Let's keep the pressure on; even repubs are starting to join the side of truth, justice and equality on this issue...

It's a shame our politicians - on both sides- were reluctant to stand up against DOMA and for same-sex marriage until the country started shifting; but that's what popular movements are about - to get our politicians to listen.

ROFL! Whatever, DY. You're ignoring all the past laws and hoping the SC will accommodate your bias. Maybe they will; doubt it. I listed two very relevant Supreme Court cases; you say they aren't relevant; all I can guess is you hate marriage equality. If that's calling you names, so be it. Consider yourself name-called.

I'll consider your argument summarily destroyed. LOL!

So called marriage "equality" is a farce on its face. Gay marriage is not real marriage, it is a counterfeit and a slap in the face of God's design.
