Not fired in any way possible. Trump just did not give him the spokesman position anymore because he does not swallow like Atlas. Seems he is hiding Brix too. But neither of them are fired. Fauci is an esteemed expert on epidemiology who will use everything science has to stop Corona. Atlas will filter everything through Trump's moods and craziness. Atlas is just another yes man for daffy. Trump insists on having them all around him. Fauci back-peddled too much in fear of trump. He will be allowed to do the job properly in January. We will lose a lot of citizens before then.

They do not have the authority to do so. They are violating the Constitution of the United States and their own State constitutions when they do so. There are currently lawsuits about this very thing going on right now. So far, Trump has not intervened to force these governors to conform to the Constitution. He has the authority to do so, however. The election will probably do a lot of damage to these governors.

I don't trust a scientist because he is a scientist. There's a lot of crap out there that scientists spew. Quite a lot of them deny science these days, particularly climate 'scientists'. Science is not a scientist, nor any group of scientists.

Fauci saved lots of lives. He made masks and social distancing acceptable. Trump reversed that.
I do not know Atlas so I have no feelings about him. I just see, unlike you, that he is totally unqualified for the position, We know Trump plucked him of Fox where he was a right-wing "expert". He brings nothing to that table. It is no way near his field. It is however exactly what Fauci has done for decades.
