Drone operator who helped kill 1,626 targets reveals trauma of watching them die

Oh come on, even I wouldn't support that and you know how I feel about you guys!
you might not support the use of armed drones, but if a drone was used to monitor and coordinate a manned raid, you'd support it, even if they were killed. you know you would.

I too have my doubts about the use of drones especially where they are used primarily to save money but I can't help thinking of people like Hitler and Stalin. Just imagine all the people that would have been alive if a drone had knocked those bastards out!!

Just imagine how many more would have died had Hitler and Stalin had drones...what most of you do not seem to realize is that soon, people like Hitler and Stalin will have drones,
and they will use them the same way we have, illegally, indiscriminately and with extreme prejudice. You fucking idiots.

So returning to the question that you've neatly avoided, you have no qualms with the Taliban taking over Pakistan and getting their hands on its nuclear arsenal.

So you have no fear of your death being described as "collateral damage"?

If the Taliban get back into power in Afghanistan, which is exceedingly probable then there will be tens of thousands who will die. But I daresay that doesn't bother you.

No time to mess with you, heading out, will respond in a couple days.

If a drone operator gets carpal tunnel syndrome from repetitive use of the control panel, would he be eligible for a Purple Heart?

It reminds me of A Gunner's Dream... from Pink Floyd's the Final Cut album...

A place to stay
[Bloke:] "Oi! A real one..."
Enough to eat
Somewhere old heroes shuffle safely down the street
Where you can speak out loud
About your doubts and fears
And what's more
No-one ever disappears
You never hear their standard issue
Kicking in your door
You can relax on both sides of the tracks
And maniacs don't blow holes in bandsmen by remote control
And everyone has recourse to the law
And no-one kills the children anymore
No-one kills the children anymore

No one in the history of the world has ever conquered Afghanistan Why we you care if our country goes broke like the USSR, as long as you get your little feeling of security.

You still haven't told me what you think about the Taliban taking over Pakistan. I can understand why as it is a difficult concept and cannot be addressed with glib slogans.

You cons think in such simplistic terms. You have very simple minds. Everything is black or white. Either we drone strike civilians or the taliban will take over Pakistan. Might there be other choices? Are there other ways to help prevent the taliban rising to power in Pakistan? Do drone strikes prevent the taliban taking power? Does killing civilians make it less likely the taliban will gain popular support within pakistan, or more likely?

How easily some justify murder.
