Fascinating. Four years later, you're still unwilling to apologize to those who questioned whether your war was neccessary, or if saddam was even a grave threat to the united states.

The fact that you expended considerable effort trying to hide and disguise your love of george bush and this war, lends further credence to the conclusion that you dreamed up a fantasy vietnam career to go with your invented online persona.

Anyone with the courage to face the viet cong on the field of battle, wouldn't be too cowardly on a message board to admit their true feelings on your war. You suggest that you had nothing to do with supporting this war, or cheerleading us into it. You pretend you are just an innocent, non-partisan bystander.

I don't want this guy's apology. He really owes one to all of the dead people, both our own, and Iraq's. But you know, if I was one of them I wouldn't want it either, because...still dead.

The thing about Dixie was, everything he wrote was buried within a 12 page rant, so you didn't always get to everything. Also, he was a comedian, and a good one. I'd be laughing so hard at the first paragraph I didn't always absorb the rest of it.

Well that was sort of set in motion when we invaded Iraq for mistakes or lies.
It is not possible to do what you want, we have caused too much growth in anti american sentiment. You ask for what a pipe dreamer would want.
Kinda like kicking the hornets nest and complaining that you got stung.

First of all, it's not possible to keep that score. Just as McNamara was playing with those figures so they are today. Second of all, Cypress probably doesn't care how many "insurgents' died, his point is, how many more of our men are we going to lose to this? I think.

It's a civil war, topper. We don't generally know who the "bad guys" are. There's a plethora of shia and sunni militia fighting each other, none of which pose a direct threat to the american "homeland".

The Pentagon refuses to give those numbers.

Mostly probably for reasons I outlined before - we generally don't know who "the bad guys" are. Also, because Vietnam taught the army that enemy "body counts" are meaningless.

We killed about 250,000 Iraqi solders in Desert storm.
My guess is the current insurgents fallen count is prob similar.

So what? We're killing tens of thousands of people, and spending billions of dollars killing people who are no threat to Kansas City or Baton Rouge.


We could paratroop the 82nd airborne into the Congo, and engage and kill 50,000 congelese guerillas....for what purpose?

Sure we could, but it would take international help. It must not be seen as solely an american operation. This was the major disconnect on this one from the beginning.

There seems to be a rush to everything in this administration. We rushed into Iraq, we are rushing towards this new immigration "reform". The Devil is in the details, the more we rush the less chance of actually looking at those...
