That's exactly my point, it looks like Musk bit off more than he can chew.
It takes a real fool to assume that the reason other people dont do something is because they cant.
Musk went full Simon Legree. He insulted and abused the employees immediately. Lots of them are highly educated professionals. Many of the best will not tolerate his buffoonery. His best people will walk. The poor employees and insecure will stay. He made a bad decision worse.
As if you know better than the guy who built both Tesla and SPacex how to run a company.

The Great Replacement is a conspiracy theory that whites are being replaced by non-whites. It is both false, and has nothing to do with Twitter.
It is going to be tough for Musk to hire new people, and to execute his massive expansion, he would need to hire a lot more people than he just laid off. The people he is trying to bring back will mostly just stay long enough to find another job. The full breadth of this disaster is still being discovered.
Musk has lost $100 billion of his own money, and several times that of everyone else's money. The market has spoken, and it is not good.
Bringing up his supposed past successes only reminds everyone that he was not a founder of Tesla, and he was basically given Space X by NASA.

Agreed it'll be tough for Musk to rebuild the employee roster. This is a royal fuck up on his part.
IMO, as with most things in America, he'll have to throw a lot of money at the problem to fix it. This is going to cost him dearly.

Musk's goal is to make an "everything app" where you can send a Tweet, order a pizza, buy car insurance, invest in stock, get medical advice, watch exclusive TV shows, etc. That requires a larger staff than just sending 140 character messages. I mean a lot more staff.
How hard is it for him to hire that huge new staff now that he is famous for treating staff poorly?
You are probably right. If he comes in high with his offers, then people will work for him even with his current reputation.
He just lost a $100 billion. He wants to hire a lot of expensive people... And they are going to be more expensive because he now has a reputation... How many more billions will he be losing in the future?
You do not get an "Everything App" from a staff of 1,000. The mortgages alone would take up that many in staff.
