They did. We got stuck with common core here because the GOP made it happen. We got the property tax redux here because the GOP made it happen. GOP made it happen.

No, I'd appreciate a link to the relevant information that details how "the GOP used the MEA to force future legislatures to deal with the will of previous legislatures", and "made Common Core and "property tax redux happen."

I checked MEA.org and they don't seem to be allied with the GOP, to put it mildly. Did I misunderstand?

Police unions used to be in the bag for Democrats. This is the first time they are coming out for Republicans, and it's got to be universal at this point. So, yeah, they've outlived their usefulness.

That's a reason for DEMOCRATS to oppose any labor union. That's a first, isn't it?

Even prostitutes should be unionised. The question is whether you need your current police. Your police sound a trifle too murderous to be useful, as far as most of us can see. Their unions could look after their pensions when they get out of prison.

It’s the police unions that are the biggest barrier to police reform. So rather hard to give the unions a pass when they are defending the bad cops and fighting to keep them on the force.
