one should think that it's pretty horrific to have 'due process of law' redefined as 'reasonable beliefs of the president'.....how is that due process of law????????
gatorman, i know you have extreme leftists view and hold obama's water, but seriously...in this???
Having been shot at and missed and shot at and hit I suppose I look at things a little differently than those that have only their inexperienced opinions to blather about.
Fuck you, yurt, and just go away, kiss my ass, snitch to your guardians or whatever. You suck.

I fail to see what being shot has to do with the issue, but whatever.
Having been shot while in the service of this great country I don't expect many to understand. Even the Veterans Administration has trouble doing that sometimes.
Look, I'm not denigrating your service. Thank you. I appreciate it. I just don't see what it has to do with the legality of executive branch assassination of US citizens abroad.
Whether it is abroad or right here in the homeland if I think an American citizen is putting me or any American troop or really any other citizen at all in the deep shits I'll do my part to take his ass out by whatever method I find available to me at the time. Otherwise, I'm just not into Americans killing Americans. I realize that might be too deep a subject for such a shallow well. I've held these beliefs and considerations for decades, my friend, and no one has ever shown me any reason to consider my thoughts in error.

are you purposefully ignoring the 'due process' part of the argument?
That is a million miles away from killing American citizens in a foreign country positively associated with known terrorists and absolutely planning to kill American troops and destroy American assets. I normally agree with a lot of what you say, Darla, but you're just wrong on this one, IMHO.
I agree with Darla and BAC. The way it is written it allows the same people who order the "hit" to determine if the target should be killed. It does remove all right to a trial, and jumps straight to the execution.
False equivalents. We have very limited investigative entities in these war zones and virtually no court rooms. I learned in Viet Nam that if I was being placed in danger by a stupidassed decision by a stupidassed squad/platoon leader there were ways to deal with him. If in the middle of enemy contact one of the troops went berserk and started firing crazily or crying and yelling we did everything possible to quell it as immediately as possible. Are you getting my drift? War is hell, my friend.

It is absolutely not a false equivalency. If they assasinate someone, our gov't can quite easily claim that they had information that they were an al Qaeda operative. If pressed to release this information they can claim it is a matter of national security, and get off scot-free.
I do not trust our gov't to do the right thing without checks & balances. Anyone who does is naive.
Obviously you care a lot, dumbass. Obama is goD? I'm an Atheist. You are the one whining like a stuck pig. And I am that one that stuck you. Now, ain't that the shits?
