There's a difference a between being a homosexual and having homosexual sex. Men who claim to be straight and are married to women can and do molest boys. Your children are no more safe around a priest or coach than a openly gay person.

Wow you're really hostile. Opportunism is typically a factor, it's not a sex/gender related issue with pedophilia. Children are fairly androgynous. But the non distinction you're making is the problem. "gay" people want people of their own age. NAMBLA is not an LGBT organization.
 
Paedophiles of a heterosexual inclination prefer little girls, homosexual ones boys. Since paedophilia is not something any society can live with we need to spend considerable sums on trying to find a way to deal with it. The trouble is, the whole issue, like so many others, is mixed up with the capitalist love of power, like that mispronounced man the US has just found guilty, sexual self-doubt and God knows what else, so it presents real problems.
