Libertarianism is not a viable concept. The Democratic party has not gone 'extreme Left'. Most Republicans are either now MAGA, or fear MAGA, but there are still a few boilerplate Republicans who are embarrassed by the party.

Same for Democrats. The Squad is a tiny faction that ought to keep their mouths shut. Far more Democrats are centrist but have nobody on the other side of the aisle who will even speak with them. That began under Gingrich, and was magnified by the Teabag movement.

OMG the massive meltdowns! The cartoons about Mrs. Obama growing watermelons in the Rose Garden. But they're not racist or anything. Even the pretend "teacher" here, who once incessantly bragged about how she gets up at 5 am to go collect stale bread from Panera's "to feed the hungry students" raged for months over the Obamas' healthy school lunches and "Let's Move" exercise campaigns.

I'm not certain, but believe their health insurance is only covered when on active duty. I was in the Reserves, not the Guard, but that's how it worked with us.

Also, I'm not certain Abbott sent the finest Texas Guardsmen to Chicago for two months. I suspect they were volunteers, which means only those who needed the money because their day jobs sucked ass and were either single or in the middle of a divorce. In short, Abbott sent Chicago his NG Losers. Think of it as a few hundred people like @Stone, @Earl and @T. A. Gardner . :thup:

I have to agree with Hegseth on the military's obesity problems. The whole country needs a wake up call regarding this issue, not just enlisted folks.
