I can definitely see gun control and climate change being the two biggest issues a few years from now, since so many new voters have lived through shooting sprees and natural disasters.

Maybe it’s already been posted earlier in this thread but I would guess not a lot of young people watch the cable news channels compared to old people.

Two thoughts come to mind:

1) old people today didn’t grow up watching cable news. so the fact that the average age of viewership is older doesn’t mean the youth of today won’t watch in the future

With that being said:

2) young people today grow up with so many different new sources I don’t know that they will gravitate towards cable news when older

One recent study says the partisan news networks have caused a decline in the number of people watching television news. I know I can only stand all the hate and partisan bias for a few minutes (Fox, MSNBC, CNN).

There are lots of cable news stations. Fox has hooked the easily conned and haters. The 35 percent who have no ability to evaluate and weigh facts , only watch Fox Gnus. That 35 percent gives them a ratings advantage because other viewers flip around. I watch MSNBC, CNN, PBS, BBC ,CSPAN and some local news.
