Fox will shell out over a billion dollars, Dominion defamation suit given green light

Fox lost the lawsuit trying to block the trial from going ahead. This is where companies generally offer a settlement. But Dominion lost business to Foxes lying smear job. They need their reputation back. The best thing they could do is take the suit all the way.

Do you think that they'd make Fox offer a public apology and admission of lying part of any settlement?

I suppose fox viewers know deep in their hearts, they are watching BS because it corresponds to what they think the world should be like. They like hearing there are people like them running around hating others.

Fox News loses bid to dismiss Dominion's $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Fox News Network on Thursday lost an effort to dismiss a $1.6 billion lawsuit brought by Dominion Voting Systems Inc, a voting machine company that says the television network defamed it by amplifying conspiracy theories about its technology.

In a written ruling, Delaware court judge Eric Davis said Dominion had sufficiently alleged it was defamed by Fox News' election coverage and the case should proceed toward trial.

Awesome!

Dominion and Smartmatic, another election software company at the center of pro-Trump conspiracy theories, are seeking billions of dollars in damages from Trump allies they accuse of defamation, including Powell, Giuliani, and MyPillow Inc Chief Executive Mike Lindell.

FOR EVERYONE'S INFORMATION ...

Eric M. Davis is a judge of the New Castle County Superior Court in Delaware. He was nominated by Gov. Jack Markell in November of 2012 and confirmed by the Legislature the following month. His current term expires in 2024

Not only do the dims judge shop ... but they court shop as well ... and look what they came up with ...

A county judge decided this ... wow ... couldn't they find a town judge ???

Dominion doesn't even want its customers to see how the sausage is made. They aren't going to like discover. Fox doesn't have a lot to hide they have already said what they said to the public.

Lol there will be no intellectual property made public. You don’t know anything do you?

Discovery will force Dominion to fork over a lot of stuff they likely don't want forked over. The likely outcome is they'll try and settle with FOX for their costs of bringing the suit and saying no one won. FOX's lawyers may recommend that settlement just to get rid of the suit.

If that happens, the Left will claim victory, the Right will claim victory, and in reality it will have been nothing be a waste of time that enriched lawyers...

Okay. The discovery process is going to shine a bright light on a lot of shit going on at Dominion!

It definitely will.

As usual, Trump leaves nothing but carnage, broken careers and ruined reputations behind him. All he had to do was mention Dominion, and he had a whole group of minions who immediately slandered them, with no proof whatsoever.

You can't do that in America.

Dominion's own software manual, demonstrations by people with Dominion machines, etc. You can't wish the evidence away, dude.

So will Fox. Dominion ain't sweating discovery, but Fox is. That's why they will settle and the terms will not be disclosed. Fox has everything to lose. Dominion has clean hands. I doubt Lindell will be smart enough to do the same, which is why this will indeed be fun.

What has Fox got to fear in discovery?
Dominion has a LOT to fear in discovery!

What wouldn't they want forked over?

You're assuming that they're hiding something. They just make voting systems.

Exactly what I think.

They don't want proprietary software made public most likely. The problem isn't with what FOX is accusing them of but of them showing FOX is full of shit. To do that, they have to open up all their proprietary stuff to inspection.
This is the same problem the Left's Gorebal Warming crowd runs into. They have to show their data in lawsuits they bring against what they claim are "climate deniers." The second they're asked to show their work--so-to-speak--is the second their case collapses.

I'm betting Dominion will settle for court costs with FOX knowing that will result in a publicity victory for them among the True Believers.

There is no onus on Dominion to prove anything about its voting machines other than they work as claimed, are secure, and that Fox's defamation caused them monetary damage. The burden of proof is on FOX to prove that the company manufactured machines that are defective, that are not secure and that can be manipulated by outside actors in order to change the votes for a particular candidate. Dominion is under no obligation to provide them with detailed specs.
They have already proven that. There were a bunch of machines that got sent to a recycler because of an insurance claim. The recycler sold them on EBay There was a hacker convention that hacked Dominion machines. They have also proved Dominion machines were attached to the internet during the election.

If they turn over all electronic/paper communications during discovery, it might shed light on a plot to fabricate/spread the disinformation, instead of just 'reporting' it from other sources.

It might be something that shows up in discovery even though they admitted to being 'wrong' in their reporting already.
An Fox will get Dominion's emails also.

Virtually nothing that people keep repeating when it comes to potential fraud or illegal behavior is true. None of it. It has all been explored at length, and none of it has held up to investigation or the courts.

People just keep repeating it. None of it is true. I welcome all of the scrutiny that everything is getting. The more that comes out, the more it's clear that the only reason anyone believes there was fraud is because a pathological liar said so.
