From a friend on FB, re ACA

I know you live in a cushy little world, you work hard, make your money, are able to set money aside, but when you are a person struggling from one paycheck to another, trying to meet the bare necessities of life, there certainly isn't enough to set aside.

There are many people on this forum who are very egocentric, they don't seem to have the ability to look outside themselves and see others.

I love how you make assumptions about me simply due to my position on this issue.

Funny how you can see that many don't have enough to set aside for emergency, but somehow think they will be able to afford the max out of pocket expenses under Obama care.

For the record, I fully support Medicaid. I think we should provide for the poor. But Medicaid already exists for that purpose. Yet you and many others on the board seem to think it is Obama care that is taking care of the poorest among us. Is it replacing Medicaid?

I am aware of that. Most Americans will also not have a catastrophic illness. You are still asking people to pay for it, one way or the other. That is the point. You ask the taxpayers to pay either via insurance premiums or via taxation to cover Medicaid, Medicare, Obama care. You are still covering those that cannot afford it.

see above.

No, it is not common sense. As for your anecdotal evidence... that is the exception to the rule. They most certainly exist. But out of the millions of echo boomers, how many have catastrophic injury or illness?

No, again you are removing personal responsibility and forcing government mandated action.

Which is nonsense. No matter what the cost of the procedure/treatment etc... it is being paid for by the tax payers... either via taxation or higher premiums.

Most Americans will not have a need for catastrophic care, what people are being asked to pay for is that possibility that they will, which EVERYONE has. To take personal responsibility you have to put in your share encase your number comes up! Its the cost of living in a society that is unwilling to allow unresponsable citizens unnecessarily die from unexpected catastrophic injury or illness.

It is taking care of people who could not get insurance through others means. I am well aware of function Medicaid.

So personal responsibility is really about the greater good is what you are arguing, not about the individual being responsible for themselves and their actions.

Bullshit. You don't care about that. You just want the gobblement to control peoples lives.

No, its about taking care of yourself so nobody else has to.

The drudge reports headline says the Obamacare hotline number is 1-800-FUC-KYO. I kid know one. I'm looking at it at this moment.

My first thought was "great, now more people will know the number and can call for assistance" and then I realized that they left out a digit. So . . . yeah, what a bunch of assholes.
