I didn't rant, I quoted the Editor of the Wall Street Journal (which, incidentally, is the biggest selling newspaper in America and is CONSERVATIVE).

What he was saying was essentially: Trump is an idiot but he's OUR idiot, so we won't call him a liar.

he said the difference between a lie and an error requires reading someones heart. So they will stick with the facts only, and stop pretending they can see inside a person.

To your general point, media bias is unfortunate. But most of the bias is reserved for opinion pages and shows. Late night talk shows in particular are not really something people should look to for hard news.

Most journalism is still the result of hard work and a commitment to the truth. What Trump is doing to the media right now is shameful & should concern all Americans.

The Editor of the WSJ is doubtless aware, like all informed people, that Trump uttered hundreds of falsehoods throughout his campaign and since.

There are two possible explanations: Trump is a compulsive liar or he's an idiot.

The Editor of the WSJ chose not to call him a liar.

Using the DOJ to spy on a reporter is a tad more serious than taking to Twitter and calling the media names. Names they’ve gone out of their way earn, btw.

Some reporters have been jailed under Trump, under some dubious circumstances.

I disagree wholeheartedly w/ your conclusion, anyway. Trump's 'fake news' campaign has taken hold, and is parroted by many at this point. I think he has been extremely effective in undermining the overall credibility of the media and paving the way for its ultimate demise as a trustworthy institution.
