From The Nation Trumps attack on media

Endorsements aren't supposed to be a reflection of the community.

ultimately opinion should be more in line with the opinions of the readers. for so many (basically all) to endorse the worse candidate I have seen in my lifetime represents a big fucking problem

Wall Street Journal Editor Says His Newspaper Won't Call Donald Trump's Lies 'Lies'

Wall Street Journal Editor-in-Chief Gerard Baker said his newspaper would not refer to false statements from the Trump administration as “lies,” because doing so would ascribe a “moral intent” to the statements.

Baker appeared on NBC’s “Meet The Press” Sunday, where he described some of President-elect Donald Trump’s falsehoods as “questionable” and “challengeable.” But, he said, “I’d be careful about using the word ‘lie’ ...

He said reporters should state the facts, but leave classifying them to readers, citing the example of Trump’s claim that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey were celebrating on 9/11.

“I think it’s then up to the reader to make up their own mind to say, ‘This is what Donald Trump says. This is what a reliable, trustworthy news organization reports. And you know what? I don’t think that’s true.’”

That's what the media should be doing, eh?

Good for the WSJ. I'll still call them for what they are. Lies.

Depends on the source.
That wasn't the answer you indicated in your rant.

I didn't rant, I quoted the Editor of the Wall Street Journal (which, incidentally, is the biggest selling newspaper in America and is CONSERVATIVE).

What he was saying was essentially: Trump is an idiot but he's OUR idiot, so we won't call him a liar.

wrong.

he said the difference between a lie and an error requires reading someones heart. So they will stick with the facts only, and stop pretending they can see inside a person.

strange question as a budget surplus would obviously be an agent of change on our debt

why does Fox News blow away the other stations in ratings? Is it better, is there more conservatives? Or is it that in a supposedly free society, conservative view points are drastically undeserved leaving one alternative to win the ratings war.

The same went with newspapers during the election. Not a single one endorsed Trump. Not one! Late night talk shows. early morning talk shows, all the same. Very biased and one sided.

To claim these institutions are free and open is just asinine. They definitely serve as the voice of the opposition party.

Odd. When I search on government deficits, I keep finding charts like these.

What are those negative numbers in the Clinton years?

Fox News is similar to Budweiser. Budweiser tastes like shit, but appeals to the common dumbfuck that doesn't know any better.

Newspapers endorse candidates all the time. Those endorsements come through their EDITORIAL boards. That they saw through Trump, just like a plurality of Americans did, is no surprise.

Talk shows don't have to be balanced. They rely on comedy and controversy to draw their audience. They pathologically lying, incompetent buffoon provides plenty of fodder for both.

"Opposition part"? Your idiots control all three branches of government!

I'll need the quote as to that being what he SAID. Not your interpretation but the quote.

You'd know what shit tastes like and I've explained why you do. Does the shit you licked off the black President's asshole taste like the shit you licked off some other white Liberals' asshole?

You didn't answer my question.

To your general point, media bias is unfortunate. But most of the bias is reserved for opinion pages and shows. Late night talk shows in particular are not really something people should look to for hard news.

Most journalism is still the result of hard work and a commitment to the truth. What Trump is doing to the media right now is shameful & should concern all Americans.
I answered it as best I could.

you have serious issues.

ignore on

ignore the world and reality is for idiots like you who want to live in fake bubble

then you ask completely fucked up idiot based questions like

why didnt the papers endorse the idiot I like

wrong.

he said the difference between a lie and an error requires reading someones heart. So they will stick with the facts only, and stop pretending they can see inside a person.

is he so stupid he cant determine what a fact is?

or is he lying

just like your stupid fucking lie filled ass it doesnt matter much

your an idiot asshole either way

ultimately opinion should be more in line with the opinions of the readers. for so many (basically all) to endorse the worse candidate I have seen in my lifetime represents a big fucking problem

there was a reason the polls didnt match the outcome

its called election cheating

your guy cheated and still couldnt get the most votes

Hilary had 3 million more living breathing Americans who didnt want your orange idiot and wanted her

but the republicans dont care about Americans and what they want

they have cheated in elections for decades now

they hate democracy

The Editor of the WSJ is doubtless aware, like all informed people, that Trump uttered hundreds of falsehoods throughout his campaign and since.

There are two possible explanations: Trump is a compulsive liar or he's an idiot.

The Editor of the WSJ chose not to call him a liar.

https://www.treasurydirect.gov/NP/debt/current

a surplus for a single year will lower our total debt for that year. The end of our fiscal year is September 30th. Show which year Clinton was in office our total debt was reduced.

budget surpluses idiot liar

are they better for the overall debt than budget shortfalls you lying cockbreath

you ignore things automatically when they confuse you by not matching your lie filled world.

that is how you became sooooo fucking stupid

and true to your stupid you will keep doing it

fuck you asshole

I dont care if you read this or not

I only care everyone else knows your a fucking lying piece of shit who cant face facts

Do you really think something on an individual scale compares to what Trump is doing to the media at large?

I would disagree w/ that, vehemently.

Using the DOJ to spy on a reporter is a tad more serious than taking to Twitter and calling the media names. Names they’ve gone out of their way earn, btw.

If Trump did that you’d have a meltdown.

fortunately for Trump, he faced the one person that lies/errors more then he does.

A person that actually lies/errors about taking sniper fire was his salvation

Some reporters have been jailed under Trump, under some dubious circumstances.

I disagree wholeheartedly w/ your conclusion, anyway. Trump's 'fake news' campaign has taken hold, and is parroted by many at this point. I think he has been extremely effective in undermining the overall credibility of the media and paving the way for its ultimate demise as a trustworthy institution.
