Gas down $1.58, give Obama credit?

and he agrees USC sucks....

oh wait, that isn't economics... but it does show some signs of intelligence from toppy.

yeah trust me I thought of that. The guy is a corn dog fan and doesn't like 'SC. Doesn't speak real highly of him.

Hats off to SF and Toppy for their skewering and epic pwnage of Jarod.

As a sidenote, I support USC. At least until the WA teams figure out how to toss a football...

What are the GOP ideas right now? I asked what their plan for healthcare was on another thread, and the usual suspects came up blank; they kept telling me to google it. I did; it wasn't much.

Healthcare is a problem, tops; it costs us a bundle anyway. I would LOVE to here some viable alternative/compromise ideas, but there is nothing out there. I don't think the Dem plan is perfect by any means.

Like you have said, though, it's probably dead in the water, anyway. It's a bummer, because healthcare will continue to be a very major, very expensive issue until somebody puts something out there that can actually work...
Maybe we need to look at what factors are consistently driving health care costs up. And maybe that is why many conservatives do not have an "alternative" solution at present, because there is not enough REAL information available to formulate a real solution.

This is especially important when one considers the fact that health care costs have significantly outpaced inflation over the past couple decades. The mantra cry of "corporate greed" does not cut the mustard. The health care industry does not show any significantly higher profit margin or ROI than any other industry. Yet something is driving costs through the roof.

If we want to truly address the issue, instead of putting the usual high-cost, inefficient, government-subsidy band-aid on things, then we need to first determine the factors that are driving increasing health care costs at rates sometimes 3-4 times higher than inflation can account for. After indentifying those factors driving health care costs, we can determine which of those factors (I am certain there are more than one) can be best addressed via government.

Face it - if health care costs over the past 20 years had merely kept pace with inflation there would be no health care issue. Health care costs are the major factor in health care availability to lower income classes. Therefore, it is the rate at which health care costs have risen that is driving the problem of health care availability. When there is a problem, you go after the cause. If you leave the cause alone, then any other "solution" will simply become part of a bigger problem later.

Year over year is a good measure to compare where gas prices are compared to past years. however, it does NOT support your idiocy that gas prices have fallen since Obama took office. To the contrary, they have increased. Again, this is not due to anything Obama has done.... it is more due to seasonal shifts and the fact that once again oil fell too far due to speculation. (though as usual, no one bitches when speculators drive oil too LOW)

Remember when the Obama supporters couldn't wait to get back to what they called "The Buck Stops Here" idea??

It seems that it means: Bush's fault

3D let me start by appologizing for the assrapping LSU is going to give Washington in the fall.
Jarod might beat USGED in and economics exam, not sure who else I'd bet on him against.

Okay, because you guys are playing dumb, excluding you supercandy (you are not playing), I will revisit this issue come January.

a much more powerfull argument would be since Obama has killed 2,000,000 jobs since he took office and the economy has fallen in the tank demad for gas has gone down taking the price with it.

Its amazing to me that you belive that President Obama has killed 2,000,000 jobs in his 6 months.

I don't think that, but dems got a million mile out of blaming bush. It's as good an argument as the left made at the beginning of the recession.

You said it. So you make a habit of making claims you do not believe?

absofuckinglutely, when arquing with a tool on either side I'll show them some of their own medicine.
Besides that, the fucking honeymoon is over. There comes a time when he stops getting a pass. I think the may report was it 4 1/2 months and still shedding jobs like vick sheds tacklers. It's his economy now.

LMAO... the only one shrouded in ignorance on this issue is you. Your proclamation makes NO sense. NONE. What you stated was 100% false and has been proven as such. Yet you continue to cling to your pathetic statement. Why?

I'm at a loss on this one as well. We all understand to compare apples to apples you compare year over year numbers. But to try and credit a guy for something that happened six months before he took office?

And Jarod you'll notice no other Democrat or liberal on this board has come to your defense on this one and it has nothing to do with partisanship it has to do with your argument being completely flawed and wrong.

So, is President Obama responsable for loosing 2,000,000 jobs or not?

You cannot even grasp my point, or you are pretending not to. I do not give President Obama credit for the drop in gas prices. I was merelying pointing out that to do so was just as silly as blaming president Obama for the current economic situation.
