He has already tripled the size of the republican voter base. He is energizing the non voting, voter eligible segment of the population. And he's doing all this running against the GOP establishment.

It's not catering to stop saying racist things. Would you accuse a Boston mayoral candidate of catering if he doesn't say anything disparaging against the Irish or the Church during his campaign?

I'm actually following my beliefs and not voting for a fraud. We have a choice of two Democrats this election and I choose to vote for neither.

And the discussion was about the party going forward and enlarging its base. Trump is turning is turning it backwards

The republican voter base is already three times it's former size and the general election is still four months away.

Trump mentioned EPI and Bernie in his economic speech yesterday. That's how left he is. He is continuously reaching out to Bernie voters, a bunch of socialists. Rana, Christifan, Jarod and Rune on this board all supported Sanders. That's who Trump is appealing too.

He doesn't speak to the power of free markets and entrepreneurial spirit which is what had made America the world's super power. Instead I have to listen to him talk about taking us back centuries ago economically. I want no part of that.

yet that has left so many people behind. It is precisely that reliance on free trade and support for big business that left us in the situation we are now. Trump is not calling for an end to all trade. Anyone who says that is a huge idiot. He is calling for a renegotiation of better deals.

Tell me why is it ok for china to put tariffs on our steel products and to finance their factories to sell things at a lower price to put our companies out of business but we cant do anything about it because of free trade?

I believe that if trump did not come along the republicans would have attempted to be more democrat - lite and still lose every national election. Repubs dont want to admit it too but most of their congressional success is due to heavy gerrymandering as well.

Obama has already called out China for multiple trade violations. It's not like we aren't doing what he wants. No what Trump is proposing will result in fewer jobs and higher prices, a total double negative. He is clearly praying on the economic ignorant.

And you can't win the Senate by gerrymandering.

I mentioned the house though not senate. Remove gerrymandering and you would lose your majority.
