What does the death penalty have any thing to do with it? She was given a 2 year suspended sentence!!!!! She was a fucking teen aged secretary in the camp commander's office. I highly doubt she had any say so in who lived or died!

Oh I believe in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Those who ordered and carried out mass murder should pay with their lives. But retribution should be tempered by the amount of involvement of those concerned. Example should we hold the engineer that ran the trains full of people to the same standard of guilt as the camp guard that turned on the gas in the showers?

My assumption is the prosecution showed beyond any reasonable doubt that she knew mass murder was being committed by her employers, but she still chose to provide them logistical and administrative support for their crime spree.

I think the driver of the getaway car still gets charged with grand larceny even though he didn't actually put a gun in the face of a bank teller.

What you are ignoring is the fact that I can use the same arguments to condemn all Germans who lived near the camps and did business with the camps or personnel.
Remember Germans are taught from birth to respect authority. So to say a teenager did something of their own free will may or may not be correct.
