I take it to mean do not indulge yourself in revenge or retribution. Revenge and retribution are toxic to the soul. But I am sure interpretations vary.

Correct and as i have pointed out even Jesus had his limits. There seems to have been a perversion of the Christian message. Some people seem to believe the message is everything is allowable and to speak against something is not how Jesus did it. Its pure bs.
