The Force is With Me
Only a racist would deny that racism exists.
Point well taken.
Only a racist would deny that racism exists.
My point is that pointing to electoral success as a barometer for the level of racism is brain-dead stupid. I'm talking drool cup mouth-breathing stupid. That is all.
This thread is racist...only pot stirrers with false outrage...smacks of Reverend Al Sharpton et al...!
Then how about you scooting your dumb ass back to Area 51.
No one held a gun to your head demanding you post here. In fact, conversations are always better without you.
Are you seriously saying that being appointed and governed by a white man is the same as being elected and not having a boss?
I believe that such a program without delving into the "race" of a person would do more to correct inequalities than those based solely in any type of specific minority status. I believe that focusing on "race" to correct the issue is as wrong as focusing on "race" to create the issue and that it becomes a divide rather than a platform for equality.I think we need programs for the poor to get a leg up. I dont think we need programs for black people to get a leg up anymore.
I actually like many of his positions. This means he has no chance to become the D's choice.Eh it depends I think on how many people come out to vote. Racism is always going to be here as long as there is freewill. Same thing with sexism on both sides of the issue. What about Richardson? He's a minority too as a latino.

Programs could be created that benefit all of those who are disadvantaged, which would include all of the minorities, without focusing on the specific reason they are disadvantaged.
So the only thing he will accompolish is based on the chance happenstance of his skin color ?
amazing...

I never denied that it was real, the idea that you fight racism by focusing on the "race" of a person is preposterous. It's like trying to clean up an oil spill with oil.Racism is real whether you care to deal with it or not. Only the fool would deny its existence and its affects. Your solution is to ignore it and perhaps it will go away.
There are many others who don't run from the challenge and face its problems and issues head on.
Yes indeed JC Watts go elected. But make everything the same about Watts, but take away the fact that he played football for the sooners and won TWO national titles and the MVP for both those games, and Watts is just another darkie runnin for city counsel in Tulsa. He would have NEVER been elected.Yes they were appointed but it comes to the same thing, Bush got reelected despite those appointments and not a thing racist was said against them or Bush for those appointments.
JC Watts got elected in the south, that alone does more to dispell racism from it's strongest stereotyped area than Obama would winning nationally and losing in many states.
