I belive all recruiters should be required to show possable recruits photos like this one, make sure they know what they are getting into. Those who still sign up are going to be awsome troops.

How many photos of dead Iraqis or mass graves, killed by saddam hussein, has Dixie and other war lovers posted? With nary a complaint from anyone.


The only people who should be hanging their head in shame, are the ones the supported this war and enabled the deaths of hundreds of thousands.
 
This is just more of "reality should be hidden" mentality I was writing about yesterday.

Jesus christ, what a war loving Emo you are. That pic is at a public event. A public event obviously attended by the media. Of course photos going to be taken at a public event. And the soldier in question posed willingly for photos for NBC news. Which are in the public domain.

He did manage to get me a little fired up last night, and I am usually not one to get bent out of shape about online debates.

Personally, I think his rant showed less respect for the soldier than Darla's posting of the picture.
 
So this guys sacrafice is supposed to be ohly recognised by the people on the right?

She posted it in response to the sacrafice one makes when they go to war.

IB asked how you would talk someone out of going to Iraq and she posted a picture that showed the sacrafice you are agreeing to.


I really dont get why some people think they OWN the sacrafice of overs?

This Young man sacraficed for us all and ended up paying the ultimate price for his service. He suffered the most painful of injuries. Darla was correct to post a picture of a young man so willing to sacrafice. Its the reality of war. When a young person is thinking of going to war they should know all the realities of it. It is not a light decision.

This is why we should NEVER, NEVER enter into a war that is anything but Nessesary to the protection of our great country. If it is not worth the honor of the scarafice of wonderful young men like the young man pictured then it should never be entered.

This young man and his brothers and sisters who have sacraficed so much for us are no less great no less heroic and not less worthy than those who have scaraficed in all our nessesary wars. These peoples honor remains uneffected by the dishonor of those who insisted on their sacrafice on lies. It is Bush and his supporters whos honor is lessened.
It is those who for political reasons required the people who are honor bound to follow to go.

Its you who defend and defended lies for political reasons and sacraficed these people.

It is you who are dishonored not them.

They stand tall and deserve all the honor any soldier makes in any war.

It is you who deserve the scorn for putting politcal bullshit over our countries defense.

You and your party are about to start paying the price.

I posted it because I give a shit if ib1 goes and gets his ass blown apart because he needs money. I don’t care who speculates on why I feel something, or why I do something. That doesn’t matter to me. It does matter to me if some kid who needs money, has his life destroyed, or lost because they are so young, and don’t think it can happen to them. Maybe he will come back in one piece physically (though maybe not), but will have killed someone whose face he can never forget. Accidently or otherwise. And 2 years after he comes home he will commit suicide. Who knows. But to pretend like Dixie did in a post I read this morning that made me want to vomit, that these kids know what they are signing up for, is outrageous. How could they?

Crap like people getting offended over somebody else's post like this.

I saw the photo and saw a young man proud of his service, I was reminded that he stood by McCain and supported him, fully aware of the sacrifice he had given. I saw it and was reminded of the good people I served with. If people see those types of photos and are drawn to service the people in the service will be better for it.

I was attempting to point to WRL that this was something that wasn't worth throwing out years of online 'friendship' over.

I dont like loosing WRL, but I think its silly of him to leave over this. The guy has left before, and he willl likely leave again.
