Not how it works. That is exactly what the house is voting on? Do you know anything? The house is in charge of spending. That is their constitutional authority. The mechanism is a bill and a vote in the house. That is what they are doing. Good grief, how do you feed yourself? If the bill passes and daffy signs it, they will be using GOVERNMENT MONEY. Don't post. Go read the constitution.

The nation will forever be torn between those who favor a large and effective safety net, to the point of eventually having a UBI which is plenty for a comfortable life, and those who seek to limit that because they wish to preserve as much opportunity for the few who choose to seek great wealth to do so.

And let's face it. Not everyone truly seeks to become fabulously wealthy. That is just not a priority for MOST people. Most people just want a comfortable life they can enjoy with family and friends. They do not desire to obsess over wealth, nor make it the exclusive driving force in their lives. They see that our society can work together to build a great society for all, and that is what they devote their lives to, in their own chosen way.
