Well, we can actually look at data to tell us whether or not you're a dumb fuck.
So, this is really easy to figure out...how much did GDP grow following WWII and at what point did the post-war economy enter a recession? Because there wasn't a recession after WWII until 1949.

Tariffs are the equivalent of literally playing with fire.
Maybe only from a pricing perspective, but domestic retailers are simply going to raise their prices to match importers because they want to make money.

You don't really get how markets work, do you? A capitalist will see the increased price paid by consumers for imported products and raise their prices to match so they can make more money.
The goal of capitalists isn't to deliver goods or services to a consumer, their goal is to make money and they will make more money raising their prices to match those of imported products than they ever will by keeping the price where it is.

First of all, the only support illegal immigrants are getting are from people like Trump who hire them. That's why they come here...because Trump and his pals hire them to work in their shitholes.
Secondly, that immigrant will spend that $1 in the economy, whereas the "taxpayer" may not...they may save that $1.
So it actually makes more sense to put money in the hands of those most likely to spend it if your goal is to grow your economy...but I don't think that's your goal.
