There is obviously a seething anger within conservatives who are slowly recognizing that their three decade crusade to deny global warming is crumbling in their faces.

But to speak specfically to this 16 year old girl -- there is also a latent anger and resentment in the rightwing that their party, their conservative movement, is overwhelmingly and consistently rejected by young people, by Jewish-Americans, by blacks, by hispanics, by Asian-Americans. Who really wants to be The Party Of Old White Guys? It is not an attractive prospect. It has to be a little embarrassing for The Old White Guys. And I believe this latent resentment is part of what drives teabaggers to lash out at young people involved in gun regulation advocacy, environment, climate change, anti-fascist and anti-racist groups, et al.
