Grind's Important Statement of the Day

My oboe playing is what paid for my school. There are TONS of scholarships out there for music majors, and then they can make great money teaching private lessons on top of it. I don't know how that would work for art though.

Go ahead and encourage that trombone playing!! Just buy earplugs the first year of learning lol.

Note to self:

If I ever have kids don't introduce them to anyone in texas named meg.

Well, I don’t want to sound like the martyr, but not everything is about making money. you should do what you love. If you can do what you love, you are going to have a better life than 90% of the people in this country. Imagine waking up and dreading work, day after day, month after month, year after year. Imagine just robotically getting through life, until you are 50’ish and you realized it passed you by, and then you think you’re going to get a divorce and buy a red sports car, and live. But you’re not going to.

There is nothing like doing what you love.

right there with you darla.

im in the most useless major ever, political science. but law is on the way so JACKPOTTTTTTT

Well Grind, I could always go law too. And if I find law boring I could go to software engineering. I have two routes to make lots of money. You only have law. I'm keepin my choices open.

I love money & being on vacation and & drinking

Rutgers didn't offer that as a major though.

so do you love going to work every day? I dont like work but i dont hate it either. i dont dread going in.. and i know that feeling as i have been in bad situations before but then just changed jobs.

I work to live not live to work.

I don’t love it every day, but I never dread it, and I often love it. I am always fulfilled by it. And I love doing the things that I do in my business, which will probably get to the point in the foreseeable future, of being all that I do, for money. I would always continue with volunteer work though. If I am not contributing something back to society, and helping people, then I am not happy and do not feel as if I am a contributing member of society no matter how much shopping I do. However, most people who choose to have children, have their hands filled with that, and that’s certainly a contribution.

Darla, the only job I am ever going to find fun is writing, and I can do that perfectly well while I'm making money. And hell, if everything I ever write sucks, I'll have money AND I'll be having fun writing suck shit.

There is more than one way to make a living writing. If you are talking about writing a best-seller, then yes, that’s rare. But a lot of people make their living writing. I always did.

Darn!! I forgot the red sports car.

From what I have read, they still pay very well for male porn stars.

There are no women on the set, but you get paid well. I guess its up to you.

I agree wholeheartedly about doing what you love. My most recent career change was in my late 30s. I have never been happier.

Yeah, the pay grade for men in straight porn isn't that high, but I would think that being able to have sex with women all day would make up with that.

unless you fall into a niche market where some 500 pound woman wants powdered sugar spread all over her flabby body while you have sex with her.
