Happy red wave day!

LOL. Well that can be considered a harassment that is punishable.

How so? It's the truth and, as you pointed out, available to all as a matter of public record.

At a minimum, they can simply put: Consider checking out <insert name> at Sheriff's office before allowing your children near them.

Yes it is a public record, but to spread information about those individuals with malice or other reason is against the law.

Agreed about malice but posting facts are not malice. Posting that a neighbor is a sex offender along with the record is fact. Suggesting his ass be beat or house burned down is malice.

Yeah that's a fine line to be sure. Neighbors are free to share the information among each other. But to publicly post the information to the rest of the world is a different creature.

In everything, there is always a fine line. LOL.

I'm not a lawyer but fail to see how posting fact can be considered differently than announcing it at a block party or BBQ.

Facebook is a very public site. If one posts the information about their neighbor, that information is shown to the surrounding areas and to their friends and families.

"Hello World! This here is a very dangerous sexual predator that lives right next to us and our neighbors on 666 White Street in Whitepeople city. Please be wary of this guy/gal as they might attack your kids mercilessly." (To add one more thing for dramatic measure) "Remember Megan? Yeah they are going to kill your kids."

It's best left to the public record. If the neighbors want to share the information, they are free to do so.

I really don't care what they do. I am just expressing my concern that it can go south. There is a movie I watched where a guy was killed in a playground at night because they thought he was the alleged "sexual predator" that lives in that neighborhood as per the information.
