All states remove voters from the voter roll at some point. It usually is based on time without voting. So if you miss 6 years of elections, you are no longer a voter.

What has gotten vicious is Republicans have been removing people for possibilities. They usually, but not always, warn the people they are being removed. They then require lengthy complex processes to not be removed.
