You're right. MAGA was so desperate to equate a college teacher to the trust fund babies of the Trump and Bush families, they expected we would believe that a professor is capable of hiring butlers, nannies, and chauffeurs.

I didn't associate Walz with livestock shows and county fairs to makes him look like a hick. I did it to contrast how normal he is compared to the trust fund babies Republicans like to elect.

Perry the PhD obviously associates livestock shows and county fairs with hicks and country bumpkins.

I know people with master's degrees in engineering and science who's kids are in FFA and raise livestock for shows. And I know graduate students, doctors, and nurses who love to go to our county fair.

My point has nothing to do with that. My point is we on the Left shouldn't play one type of American against another type. There is no value to elitists over the rural flyover country. and looking at it purely in isolation,
I think that we never took our kids to a livestock show
because they and we think of animals as pets
and not livestock,

something, as inherently immoral humans,
we conveniently forget when we have a cheeseburger.

My children did enjoy petting zoos enormously,
and I have a photo of my son holding a lion cub in his arms
when he was maybe seven or eight, roughly the size of the surprisingly cooperative cub.

I get being bothered by the treatment of animals as commodities.

I only buy free range meat and poultry out of consideration for the humane treatment of livestock and poultry.

I like the goats at the petting zoo. Goats have a lot of personality
