Has Trump ever changed a tire, gone to a livestock show, taken his kids to the county fair?

Increasingly the diploma on the wall is not a credential, it is a receipt.

In some sense I suspect that's true. Academe has taken to trying to be "industry" and it is flailing horribly. Grossly hyperinflated tuitions coupled with their tendency to rely more on non-tenured, adjunct faculty who get paid next to nothing and have no benefits, mean they have chosen the industry approach of MAXIMIZING PROFIT while minimizing opex. And who better to beat up on than the most important part of the entire system?

I loved university. But I was lucky beyond luck....I was born in the 60's, so when I got to college it was still affordable, valuable and fun! But I honestly fear that when we started forcing EVERYONE to get a college degree to do ANY job we started down this dark path. What we really need to do is a bit of a hard reset. We need to bring our manufacturing jobs back and open trade schools in droves. Not everyone wants to be an R&D scientist. ALSO let's go back to the states ponying up more money to the state unis. This steady de-funding by the states seems to be playing hand-in-glove to this new "profit" drive the Unis are growing.

lowest its been since Biden raised gas prices......if Biden can get it back to Trump's numbers the Fed says it will lower interest rates......think he can do it?.......maybe after he gets back from his next vaca......
Funny thing about that. The Fed prints the money, causing inflation, then promises to lower interest rates if inflation is curtailed.

Walz is a poor example of an American

C'mon. Your guy knows how "branding" works. It's his stock in trade. Trump is a brand. If he is a gifted savant at ANYTHING it is the importance of branding.

Right now Walz carries the brand of "down-home American dad! (Insert exploding fireworks here)" pretty damn well. I think you all know this in your heart of hearts. And, honestly, even someone like me who is inherently suspicious of any sort of "hyper branding", I'm a midwesterner by birth and I gotta say, he even makes me proud to be from the midwest. Which if you were from the midwest you would understand doesn't ALWAYS happen.

So, I gotta say, regardless of what you think or imagine about his politics, you GOTTA admit he's straight outta central casting.

Nah, dude. Ted Cruz wrote an article at some point (I can't find it now but I'm looking) that was some topic that involved advanced math. I suspect the guy is probably dangerously smart. But he's pulling a con on you guys by playin' it "rough Texan common man".
He is smart. Obviously a lot smarter than you.
I've got to find that paper, I read some of it years ago but I can't find it now.
Good hunting, for all the good it will do you.
Most of these folks on BOTH sides came up through the Ivies if they did Law and, no matter how much we'd all like to think an Ivy league education is now overinflated grade-inflated puff, it really isn't (and it certainly wasn't back then). These people are sharp. You pretty much have to be. And they all went into politics which means they are planning on selling you something.

So when someone tries to "out hick" each other or somehow denigrate the "elites", just remember no matter who's doing it, they are almost all to a person the elite.
Go stuff your bigotry elsewhere.
This whole hagiography of Tim Walz is a bit annoying by extension. While I am a sucker (as is everyone) for a down-home Midwestern feel-good guy,
He isn't.
I have to remember that this isn't the only way to be an American. I grew up in the Midwest, so I know "Midwest Nice". It's great!
Tampon Tim ain't it.
The people are some of the nicest....well, you've heard it all before probably about YOUR area...but honestly it's not the only real America. Real America includes all of us. From the farmer and tradesmen all the way up to the theoretical physicists and CEO's.
DON'T TRY TO EQUATE THE PEOPLE OF THE MIDWEST WITH TAMPON TIM!
Maybe we should try to dial back this splitting of our country along "class lines".

So you know a LOT about Stanford's graduate quality, then.

I doubt you would need worry in the slightest.
The so called elite schools know that they are in trouble because too many people have had extensive contact with recent grads....they are very aware that the schools are no longer even remotely providing education. Young people are also aware, which is why applications are plunging.

I dont play your game of denying reality/lying.

Colleges and universities are not just for R&D scientists. Manufacturing does not require trade schools.
Using the Marxist 'we' and attempting to 'manage' an economy reveals what you are, commie.

No, Trump is a person.
If he is a gifted savant at ANYTHING it is the importance of branding.
Obviously you don't, and don't even understand the concept.

Nah. I'll do that. I know how to make them safely and shoot them safely. I won't do it, however, for Tampon Tim.

I don't believe you.
and I gotta say, he even makes me proud to be from the midwest.
I don't think you're from the midwest or anywhere near Minnesota. Pretending won't work.

BTW: I think I have this right....VDH was saying that Stanford is currently bragging that they turned down 70% of white applicants this year who have perfect SAT/ACT test scores.

If I made up my PhD. Then it means you made up your...what was it? Masters degree. Yeah, that's it.

So every time you repeat this point you will be telling everyone that your Masters degree is a lie.

Which is not surprising given how dumb you actually are. Not outright stupid, you have a level of knowledge that's pretty impressive, but you lack the ability to apply or understand that knowledge. It's like you're a tape recorder. Someone puts somethign on the tape and you just play it back.

So tell me, how DOES one get a Masters degree yet have almost no ability to discuss or even really understand his own points?

I think I know.
Thanks for admitting you're Perry PhD and, yes, I strongly doubt you have a PhD unless you printed it yourself.

I'm just guessing you have like zero connection to this topic in the slightest. Just none. It's kinda funny. I can see you there in the double-wide talkin' to Bub from the garage over a couple of cold beers discussing the prevalence of grade inflation in the Ivy League and associated universities.
