MAGA MAN
Let's go Brandon!
I'm not disagreeing with that in the least...and you would deserve to be locked up for a long long time if you were wrong.
You and Cwacko seem to have made up your mind though, ready to hang this guy.

I support gun rights but too many people use guns because they cannot or are afraid to fight. At least if you fight you live to fight another day. Was this really worth it for the guy to spend the rest of his life in prison?
"Invited"? No, I usually pay my own way. But no, I don't go to movies very often. Too violent!...and I'm going to go out on a limb her and suggest you don't get invited to the theater often.
People can move seats or they can call the cops. It doesn't have to resort to the firing of a gun. If that is worth going to prison for the rest of your life then that is your choice. I like living on the outside.

My point is that you or I don't know the whole story. Obviously the younger guy threw the popcorn at the older guy to initiate a physical confrontation in response for being told what the theater rules were. Do you think that was reasonable?
This one is good, too. "We don't know the whole story but this is obviously what happened and what the one guy was thinking at the time."
You weren't there. If he tossed a lot with force, I would see it as a diversion for a more physical attack. I might be inclined to defend against such attack...

No guns in theaters or playgrounds.
Klamsman
That number is going up as society coarsens, the age of the person attacked increases, and respect for the elderly diminishes. With that in mind, if I were an old geezer, I may not like the odds.
And maybe the young guy tossed popcorn at or theatened the older man's wife. That would end it for me right then.
Everyone misses the real point of this article. This POS was a retired cop. COP.
Exactly. I'm surprised he isn't hunting down the guys kid to shoot.Everyone misses the real point of this article. This POS was a retired cop. COP.
The old man initiated the confrontation. The movie theater is owned by someone who employs people to work at that theater. Go get help if the guy is bothering you. Quit pretending your Clint Fucking Eastwood and you have kill someone for texting.Or, people can choose not to text during a movie. Or not initiate a physical confrontation when told what the rules are.
Most cities retired cops are allowed to carry concealed after retirement so my bet is NO LAW would have prevented this guy from finally losing the remainder of his marbles and killing someone.
I am one of the most pro-gun people on this site. I support open carry, concealed carry, I own firearms, including so called assault weapons. Just because you carry a gun does not mean you have to pull it every time someone raises their voice at you. If you are going to be Billy Bad Ass and confront someone over texting you cannot also be Perry Pissy Pants if they person raised their voices at you.
hysterical.
In one sentence you state no one can know the whole story, then you IMMEDIATELY presume to tell us WHY the younger man threw his popcorn.
Talk out of both sides of your face very often?
