SOME banks were included in the 'Too Big To Fail' giveaway, notably Citibank, Wells Fargo bank, Bank of America, Chase, and a few others.
Most of the rest of them failed. They no longer exist.

Bitcoin is better than fiat in that Bitcoin cannot be created arbitrarily and there is final maximum limit of 21 million Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has some disadvantages too. I've already listed them. Most notably is the inability to recover a forgotten password and the requirement of the internet for a transaction to occur.
