You are conflating a crime with an action. Regardless of what crime(s) Babbitt might have been committing, a federal law enforcement officer must follow the federal use of force guidelines in using force. What you say above is nothing more than justifying vigilantly justice. The officer does not have a right to be judge, jury, and executioner. That's what you are trying to justify.

The officer should have followed federal use of force guidelines, and he should not have fled the scene after shooting Babbitt like he did. The officer was completely wrong in shooting her.

He failed to follow federal use of force guidelines like he was required to do, then he fled the scene. That second one is the most onerous. Why did he run away from the scene of a shooting? He should have stayed put. If he was defending that hallway, shooting Babbitt and then fleeing is hardly the way to do it.

If police are supposed to follow the law and the rules in using force, you're damn right I want him held accountable. As a veteran of 26 years, and having to had to qualify as a security specialist--my command required that across the board and as Chief I had to do the course too, I got the basic federal law enforcement training along with use of force rules.
