Hillary/Giuliani in dead heat

Another problem-o I have with Hillary is that she will automatically double the turnout for the GOP base, and likely increase their fundraising ability in a significant way. No one has a more powerful ability to lose Congress for the Democrats than Hillary...it's not even close.

Edwards/Obama would be a great ticket, imo - won't happen, but it would be hard to beat.

I belive a lot of the Bush idiots have learned there lesson and may stay home, or vote third party. Remember Bush's two elections were very close! Rudy is pro-choice so he will loose a percent or two from the whackos.

Nah, most of them will be telling us how Hillary is so dangerous they have to vote for Rudy. Same thing the Clinton idiots have already acknowledged they will do, regardless of who the Repub nominee is.

1) Actually I addressed the female vote as one of the reasons they are sticking with her

You right, you did

2) As for the black vote, for clarification... do you think more black voters will vote on the whole because she is running? Because the overwhelming percentage of the black vote goes to the Dems regardless of whom they select as their candidate. So unless her being the nominee will drive more black voters to the poll, then this is a moot point. I do agree that Obama on the ticket would do so, but I don't see her selecting him as her VP.

An energized black electorate will be going to the polls to elect her, even though blacks are the most antiwar demographic in America. She has an ace in the hole .. Bill Clinton, the most popular US President in history to blacks .. even as sad as that is. She will definately drive more blacks to the polls and an energized black electorate gets 80-90% of registered blacks to the polls. That vote has traditionally been critical in close elections .. which is why republicans will always try to disenfranchise it. If it wasn't that important, why bother?

Clinton needs Obama on the ticket to soothe those who don't like her alter-ego as Xena the War Queen .. and I don't see the Clinton's passing on the opportunity to make history twice. First female President, First black Vice-President. That shit will just look too damn good in the Clinton library to pass on.

Yep both parties are getting just alike while courting the same groups of voters....
sort of a natural political party progression I suppose.

I'm no fan of Hillary but I think you mistakenly overstate the republican power of backlash these days. More than a few republican women will vote for Hillary no matter what their husbands do. If Guiiani is on the ticket many republicans will see that as a lose-lose situation and the christian-conservative base will not be that energized pulling the lever for Rudy.

Edwards/Obama, Obama/Edwards is a good ticket, but Clinton/Obama is an unbeatable ticket.

That I agree with. But, any Dem - male or female - is generally better on issues that are important to the majority of women. I don't think Hillary can count on a massive turnout of women voting for her. Its going to come down to how well she sells herself on ISSUES important to women. Particularly single women, and single moms. I think the Dems have taken that demographic for granted for too long.

The difference today between Obama's numbers and Hillary's numbers are women. Women are going to demonstrate their political power in this race.

in our elections last tuesday. It appears that 60% of voters in Red state KY voted straight demoncratic ticket.

I don't believe the polls for now. And I don't know what her level of support is, among women.

I do know this. Women won't vote for a woman, simply because she's a woman. Do you think Margaret Thatcher, or Elizabeth Dole could win the majority of women's votes here, in a national election? I don't. I think women are largely issues driven, just like men.

I disagree my friend.

The difference between Hillary and Dole is that Hillary is electable and stands a great chance of becoming the President, Dole did not. She will bring out record numbers o women, far more than Dole.

The same is true of Obama. The difference between him and Jesse Jackson is that Obama is electable. he will bring out record numbers of blacks, far more than Jackson.
