I suspect because science and technology have rendered the public health risk related to srimp and pork to be moot (I know I spelled shrimp wrong, inside joke for my wife, we saw it on a sign in South Carolina selling them on the side of the road). It was beneficial for the flock to mind what they ate back in the day just as it is beneficial to the flock to observe right and wrong.
