Nah. It's an acorn. It has few if any characteristics of a tree.
If it is germinated it has all the characteristics necessary. Much like a human life begins at conception. Is it a "person" yet? That's philosophical, but it is a human life. It will not grow into something other than a tree, just as the burgeoning human life would not grow into something other than at least one human (it could twin you know and be more than one, but at the time of conception it is only one).
Only about 5-10% of people are born homosexuals. Therefore, they are not the "norm" meaning they are abnormal. You want to attach a negative connotation to the term abnormal when it only means they deviate from the norm.
A 6'7" inch person deviates from the norm as does a person with a 150 I.Q. Abnormal can be a positive thing.

There are connotations to the words "normal" and "abnormal." That's just the way it is.
Not being in a majority is not "abnormal." Having blue eyes is not "abnormal." We never ascribe that word to people with blue eyes.
