House passes anti-lynching bill

The House on Monday overwhelmingly approved legislation that would make lynching a federal hate crime, two years after a similar effort passed the chamber but was held up by Sen. Rand Paul.

H.R. 55, the Emmett Till Antilynching Act, was introduced by Rep. Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.). It would amend the U.S. Code to designate lynching a hate crime punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

Do they define 'lynching'?

Everything depends on the definition of hate, and everything about that is connected to who gets to decide....and what they are after,

Note to mention understanding the motives of others is mostly guessing in the best of times.

What's so hard to understand about killing random people because of their race, religion, sex, creed and such?

It does. You said it depends on the definition of hate. What "everything"? Hate crime is targeting RANDOM people due to who they are. That's very simple.

I am saying that knowing why an individual does something is hard to know, and what they say is not the end of the story. knowing why some people target people not like them is an whole different kettle of fish (and it is certainly not always hate).

You can prove hate by their words. If the motivation is unknown, then they don't get charged with hate crime. It's quite simple.
