Over half of regular marriages end up in divorce. What exactly is holy and special about that? Is that something that needs respect and preserving as an institution? I doubt gay marriages duplicate those levels of failure. Gay marriage is between 2 people who love each other.

Marriage is a legal and binding contract that is mostly designed to allow wives and children to survive a breakup. If you doubt that, get a divorce. The courts will show you what marriage is about.
Marraige used to be about royal families merging their family fortunes and political power. Not about love. It is mostly a business proposition that fails more than half the time.
Gays have the same love that heteros do. There is no reason they should not be as miserable as you are. They should have the same legal circumstances as you and the same tax breaks and ability to decide what happens to their loved ones in an emegency or is one of them dies.
You should keep your nose out of other people's lives. What they do is none of your business and it has zero impact on your marriage and your life.
