HR 127 is a way to confiscate guns

But who defines high capacity?

Oh, and per your definition a Ruger 22 rifle is an assault rifle, now that is pure nonsense.

The Ruger 10/22 is a semi-auto .22. The Ruger 77/22 is a bolt action .22.

It looks "scary" as hell, don't it? :whoa:

Myself, I'd prefer the 77/22.

many democrats are ignorant , a assault weapon is defined as a selective fire weapon , meaning it can fire more then one bullet at a time when the trigger is depressed .
their description makes this a assault weapon

they fail to understand that a ar 15 may look like a m16 it is not and functions differently , much like how they think a transvestite is a female but is not they may look like one but they cant have baby just like a ar 15 cant fire full automatic .

they always try to turn something into something it is not .
their minds are so twisted they can tell the difference .Dumb bastards

My point was that the first would be defined as an "assault" rifle per their definition, which is pure nonsense, heck most of their definitions are nonsense.

Both are nice. I have a Winchester Model 60 which my dad restored from his childhood when I was in second grade. It's one of the straightest little shooters in my cabinet. Shot lots of squirrels with it.

This is the model, but not my rifle:

you know about guns and I think you should explain the difference between a true assault rifle and a ar 15 to liberals and why guns are not bad but the people who abuse them .

The Banners don't listen to Liberals that know about firearms any more than they do with Conservatives, as with any fanatic it does not matter who disagrees with them it only matters who does. FYI Dutch Uncle is no Liberal, he just isn't Far Right.

Thanks. Agreed that, regardless of political flavor, fanatics don't want to learn about opposing views. This thread and others touching on controversial issues are examples.

I touched on it briefly but then the nutjobs came out of the woodwork whining about it.

Assault Rifle: An assault rifle is a selective-fire rifle that uses an intermediate cartridge and a detachable magazine. "Selective-fire" means full auto.

Assault Weapon: A political/legal term used in the USA to define some types of semi-automatic firearms chambered for centerfire ammunition with a detachable magazine, a pistol grip and sometimes other features such as a vertical forward grip, flash suppressor or barrel shroud.

According to Concart's thread, he'd ban all semi-automatic firearms so that means the .22 rimfire rifles too.

....- We're coming for your guns. Yep, we are. If we have our way, no more high capacity magazines, no more semi-automatic rifles, and no more gun show loopholes....
I didn't say all guns. I said semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines. They are a threat to me and every American, 24/7/365. We've managed without machine guns, tanks, flamethrowers and nuclear weapons for quite a while now. I think adding semi-automatic weapons to that list is A-OK. If the Trumptards think that means 'we are coming for your guns', I'll be happy to reinforce that notion. I am not in the least apologetic about that stance.

lets face it dutch there are lots of gun laws already but criminals pay no attention to them .we both know that to be true and hr 127 is not designed to to punish criminals but to make law abiding citizens in to criminals

Your semantics don't change the validity of my argument, or your utter nonsense about authoritarianism. I am honored at the rent free room I have in your head though.

Agreed. I'm totally against the Democratic view of using Federal authoritarianism for all 328M Americans to solve problems primarily inside their own cities.

2/3s of their touted "gun deaths" are suicides. Unless they plan on banning single shot muskets and neckties too, banning guns won't solve the 45,000 suicides in the US every year.

You are free to your own delusions. Good luck with your authorian takeover of the United States of America.....you're going to need it.

I agree 100%
My point was there were 2 Ruger .22 rifles with separate prefixes.

And the top on started out like this

Real "scary," huh?
They are idiots.

Two of mine started out looking that way, one, still does with a few minor changes, the other looks very different with all new furniture, and the third is a tactical takedown version so the look is different. I am a Prepper, so the 10/22 is an important base model that will serve one well for smaller game, and even, to some degree, personal defense, though I have better firearms for that task.;)
