Which is exactly why he's going into the mental trash can.
He doesn't want to discusss, he just wants to bitch and moan and he doesn't need input to do that.

China is using a number of countries in Africa and Asia as slave labour. The recent election in Zimbabwe was bought for Mugabe by the Chinese. China is basically starting a new empire but there are many that are reluctant to recognise it for what it is.

Respectfully, what you are spreading is pure western propaganda. Don't you think it a bit odd for you to accusing China of slaves and colonization?

If you'd like to debate this issue, I'd like to do so civilly.

China's policy is welcomed by Africa

excerpts

Indeed many here in Africa are following keenly the political developments in China because the last ten years have not only witnessed rapid growth in China but also signalled a vigorous development of China-Africa friendship and co-operation. This partnership is felt across the continent particularly in regards to the effect China’s investment has had on Africa’s economic transformation in the last decade.

In the coming week, Africa will be particularly interested in a continuation of China’s trade and investment. In 2009, China surpassed the United States as Africa’s largest trading partner. China has taken a two pronged approach in its economic relations with Africa, offering development loans to oil and mineral-rich countries like Angola, but also developing special trade and economic cooperation zones in several poorer countries, to improve poor infrastructure.

Africa’s economic growth is projected on average at 6% annually to 2015, as a result of this approach by China, investing in both wealthier and poorer African countries. In the last decade, China has seen a dramatic increase in trade with sub-Saharan African countries, with China’s total trade in goods now surpassing U.S. trade with the region. China- Africa trade has soared from $10 billion in 2000 to $166 billion in 2011, and is expected to exceed $200 billion in 2012 and $300 billion by 2015. China’s investment into Africa could rise by 70% to $50 billion by 2015 .

The AU has welcomed China as an important strategic partner in Africa's push for modernization and sustainable development. China has also made it clear that it respects African countries' independent choice of the road of development and supports African countries' efforts to grow stronger through unity. It’s policy of ‘non-interference’ and no strings attached to its financial and technical assistance has been welcomed by Africa’s leadership.

Unlike the west, China's reach into Africa did not come through war, invasion, or terrorism, it has come through partnership and the exercise of soft power. That approach has been so successful the west is worried about it and has stepped up its campaign of terrorism, and now more drones are dropping on innocent people, more covert actions and more US-supported Al Qaida terrorists are popping up everywhere.

One reason the Chinese are welcomed throughout Africa is because they are far more respectful of the people than the west.

A new century wipes the slate clean and America got its slate dirty. China has done some bad things this century they just don't compare with all the terrible things we've done. Bush and Obama both killed far more people then Hu Jintao. China has been in a state of piece while America has been destroying other countries.

We don't just launch air stikes and invasions, we also play economic warfare against countries in Latin America and Africa. We create poverty in countries that are not pursuing weapons of mass destruction. What has Cuba done to deserve to be put in poverty by America. The average Cuban doesn't benefit from economic sanctions. Economic sanctions don't help ordinary people. Economic sanctions are designed to destroy a countries economy. Americans are un happy when are economy grows slowly and its the same for the rest of the people in the world. Revolutions happen during weak economic times so the U.S tries to destroy other countries by destroying their economy. Economic sanctions can be used to force other countries to abandoned aggressive actions or give up weapons programs. Sanctions aren’t humanitarian. Sanctions can cost people jobs and lives. No one is made better off by sanctions that why sanctions can be effective. Sanctions hurt all classes.

Amen Reverend, amen.

I thought you were talking about this century?

Outside of colonization all of that has happened this century. I wasn't talking about actual slave labor. Africa has been making great advancements this century. Their is rapid growth. China has invested in Africa's infrastructure. China has also helped to screw up Africa. American businesses are often no more ethical then China's.

I notice that you haven't said anything about Mugabe, the Left has gone pretty damn silent about him. They couldn't stop praising his virtues one time until they discovered what a murderous despot he is. China is more than happy to leave Africa as it is, all they want is the mineral wealth and they will provide any infrastructure, roads and railways mostly, to further that aim. Of course Africa welcomes China's non-intervention, it means they are free to carry on running their kleptocracies in the same old way. China is doing much the same thing in Burma and Laos.

Before any part of your diatribe is to be even considered, you're going to have to provide something to support your asinine theory regarding a new century wiping the slate clean.

You have to wipe the slate clean in order to determine who has a better human rights record this century these past 13 years. You are free to talk about all of space and time but in order to answer the question about wither China or America has a better human right record this century there must be a hypothetical clean slate. Anyone is free to post what they want but I want you to generally answer that particular question. Not every post must. Does America have better Human Rights Record Then China this century? (past 13 years) In this hypothetical question assume a clean slate before the year 2000.
America has destroyed other countries while China has been at peace.

I suppose you would want to wipe the slate clean otherwise you would have to acknowledge the 50-60 million that Mao killed or starved over the years. Oh and what about North Korea? The only reason it is still able to survive is because it suits China to keep it that way. How many millions have died there in the past few years?

North Koreans die because of economic sanctions and a lack of food aid. China should be providing North Korea with more food. China has tried to encourage economic reforms in North Korea. China had severe agricultural problems because of WW2 which destroyed its agricultural system. Mao merely pushed things over the edge. Mao was an idiot who took economic advice from the Soviet Union. Collectivization didn't work in the Soviet Union but the Russians lied to the Chinese about it. Mao of course killed a lot of people during the cultural revolution. America did a lot of terrible things in the past as well. 19th century America was about showing no mercy. Slavery, slaughtering Indians, crushing Mexico, and conquering Hawaii made America the greatest nation by 1900.
If we continue to have a worst record then China year in and year out by the time the 21st century ends China will truly have a superior human rights record. After all America claimed to be a champion of Human rights in 1950 despite are Nations History. America has not intention of changing course. We may get lucky that China will screw things up the future. China could easily end up with a worst human rights record then us. But right now in this century they have a better human rights record then us.
Do you really believe that America isn't a big human rights violator with century?

It has been estimated that over a million have died in Tibet at the hands of the Chinese. Oh and let's not forget the Korean War, another couple of million there as well.

You speak as if the west is interested in more than Africa's resources. They aren't.

What is it to be said about Mugabe that can't be said about every dictator and despot we support .. and often train at our own terrorist training camp here in Georgia?

It doesn't sound as if you are any friend of Africa .. so why do you care about the African/Chinese relationship .. other than as competition?

I am certainly no friend of the useful idiots in the West that gave despots like Idi Amin, Nyerere, Mugabe and Mobutu a free pass.

I saw that he got to play the other day; because of the appeal.
Is that how it should be?

That is baseball rules. You can file a complaint with the Baseball Commissioner if you want. America is a much more serious threat to Human Rights then A Rod is to Baseball.
