Hysteria

LOL. Yeah, that is what he proposed in a stupid way. His stupid proposal would have actually had an impact on that day, your side's "leader" the pResident proposed only changes that would have changed nothing about that day. That is the difference and what makes one hysterical while the other was just stupid, when stupid proposals would have more impact than your flailing you are acting hysterical. Trying to scare your people into something stupid that will do nothing... that is hysteria.

Too many people get hung up on the specifics of Trumps proposal. He did the same thing on immigration. What gets missed is he steers the debate in the direction he wants it to go and makes everyone else look pathetically unserious about the issue. Which they manifestly are.

As if gun control or the establishment's status quo will protect anyone.

Words don't mean things?

Proposing measured common sense gun regulation in response to 26 kindergarten kids being slaughtered two years ago today, is not hysteria.

Proposing banning all Muslims from entering the country, even citizens, based on their response to being asked their religion, comes from Hysteria.

Yawn all you want.

What are these measured common sense proposals? Provide details about how you would deploy them

We scare pretty easy. If you're ISIS, you have to look at the national reaction to the attack in CA and feel incredibly powerful, just like OBL likely rejoiced in our reaction to 9/11.

Personally, I feel no different after what happened last week. I obviously hate to see innocent people killed, but there is still a far greater chance that I'd be killed driving to the supermarket, or crushed by furniture.

But I watch TV & listen to the radio, and it seems that my fellow Americans are now terrified beyond belief. What gives on that? Can anyone offer a rational explanation for why that makes sense?
Do you live in an area that is subject to unpleasant, potentially catastrophic natural phenomena? You know, like hurricanes and tornadoes and floods? I live in south florida, otherwise known as hurricane alley. I've been though 4 hurricanes, 3 in florida and one in rhode island, and all of them scared the hell out of me. I've been in military and law enforcement situations that scared the hell out of me. Do you wear a seat belt when you drive to the supermarket? If you saw a piece of furniture dangling from a rope 20 feet in the air, would you walk under it? I see no "hysteria" over terrorism. I see people who are afraid of it and try to take steps to prepare for it and continue to function, like we do with natural phenomena. But I see no hysteria, which causes paralysis. I've also seen happy idiots who are afraid of nothing die with stupid expressions on their faces.

Thingy is really not much different than Trump is he using hyperbole?

Using your logic, Christians follow a God who drowned all humans in the entire world save one mans family.

I do not believe in the god of the organized religions.

After being extremely religious, I realized that praying to the Christian god (and probably other ones) has the same probability of a successful outcome as praying to the nearest rock in one's garden. At the age of ~nine, without knowing Spinoza, and maybe Einstein, I came to the conclusion that IF there was a god, then that god is the sum total of the laws of the Universe. That is the belief of Spinoza and Einstein, among others.

IOW, praying to god is like praying to the lightening so that it does not strike you. We'll all become fertilizer, just like the lowly cockroach snuffling around hither and yon.

It has been reported this week that there are more British Muslims fighting for the extremist Islamic State than there are serving in the British armed forces.

Newsweek first published the story online on Wednesday and it was followed up by a front page splash in The Times on Friday.

The main crux of their headline comes thanks to a quote from MP Khalid Mahmood, who refuted Ministry of Defence (MoD) estimates (of around 500), to instead estimate there are 1,500 British Muslims fighting in Iraq and Syria.

The Times reports that 560 Muslims serve in the British army, which is correct according to this MoD data released after an FOI request.

You "forgot" the rest of the article, chump.

"As an aside, there are also 28,430 members of the armed forces who declared no religion when they signed up to fight.

So to claim that there are 'twice as many' British Muslims fighting for Isis as there are in the British armed forces is pure guesswork.

To reiterate the point, security forces admitted to The Times that there is no way of telling how many Britons have joined radical Islamist groups in Iraq and Syria because there is no way of keeping track of every British passport holder."

Are you talking about the US forces or the UK forces ?

Way back when I went to boot camp, you were asked what religion you were to put on your dog tag, and that if you didn't have a religion, you were told,,,TO FIND ONE....lol

What will protect people from gun violence?

The Times reports that 560 Muslims serve in the British army, which is correct according to this MoD data released after an FOI request.

Official government estimates put the number of British Islamic State fighters operating in Syria and Iraq at up to 800. The Foreign Office cautioned Thursday that it is difficult to provide precise numbers.

So twice as many might be a stretch....but then the actual numbers isn't the point being made .....but to say more British Muslims are fighting for ISIS than in the entire British Armed forces could
be very accurate.....

You cannot be serious. The official estimated up to 800 British IS fighters, among the 28,430 armed forces members who declared no religion, and no number for armed forces members who declared a religion. How do you get accuracy in 800 v. 28,430+?

Not big on reading comprehension are you sweetie ?

too many big words for you, or what

Official government estimates put the number of British Islamic State fighters operating in Syria and Iraq at up to 800.

The 800 has nothing to do with the British Armed Forces....they are British Muslims....fighting for ISIS, not British soldiers.
