I don't see the problem.

People are making a big stink about gun violence, especially mass shootings, which account for a mere one in a thousand gun deaths. Let's crunch some numbers here. It is estimated that there are about 250 million guns in this country. Roughly 10,000 people die as a result of gun violence every year. So, if we do a little math... 10,000/250,000,000 we find that only .00004 percent of guns are used to commit homicides every year. Actually, it's even less than that since many of those guns are used in multiple homicides. So there you have it. Guns are not the problem. The numbers do not lie.

BETTER YET:

During recorded history, it is estimated just over 100 billion people have lived on the planet.

Yet here in America, we only manage to kill 10,000 people per year...so the statistic show only...

...ahhh, don't even bother.

The guns are definitely not the problem. The fact that we kill far more people using guns than any other nation...and the fact that we have far more guns in the hands of citizens than any other nation...

...is nothing more than a coincidence.

Considering that it is people who kill, and not guns, you are spot on.

It's never a problem, until it becomes your problem.

Our people are just more savage...more bloodthirsty...more nuts...than the people of other countries.

Guns are not the problem. over 99.99 percent of guns are owned by law abiding citizens. All violent crime is committed by a very small minority. Most of them repeat offenders.

Most of them using guns the laws in place say they shouldn't possess.

While I agree with your premise, you forgot to multiply by 100 to make it a percentage. It's actually 0.004% of guns that are used to commit homicides, based on the numbers you provided. Still a very small number, and definitely not worth penalizing the people who own 99.996 percent of guns who don't use them to unlawfully kill others.

Actually, I converted it from scientific notation. it was 4.something x 10 -5 So it's .00004.
