what would you do differently? If you have the symptoms but are not in a life threatening situation, you should just say at home. Being tested or not tested does not change that.

Here is why I know this is a big nothing burger.

China announced early January meaning that this has been out there since probably early December. Given global travel, citizens of the US have been exposed and infected since back in December maybe even earlier.

Now here is where the magic of logic and reason happens. Ready?

OK. We have not seen an increase in ER visits in that time. If we were really truly dealing with a deadly virus, our healthcare system would have been overwhelmed long before China announced. It would have been overwhelmed in January and February. Here we are in March and nothing. If this had never been announced, you would have chalked it up to having the flu or a cold.

It is a big nothing burger from an infectious disease standpoint. There are other things you should be worried about

Are you kidding? That is why we take you as a joke poster. You need to collect the data before you develop a plan. That is the scientific method and logical. You need to define and locate the virus so you can anticipate its direction and its severity. You need the data to see if it evolves. yes righty, viruses evolve rapidly even though you rightys do not believe in that.
